September 30th, 2010

Doctor Who exhibition to get new display stands?New display stands may be needed for the new "significantly bigger" Doctor Who exhibition that is being planned.

The current exhibition is due to close in March and will be replaced by an "interactive" show, which is expected to open in 2012, Wales Online reports.

At the moment, the Doctor Who exhibition is in the Red Dragon Centre in Cardiff Bay, but the location is to change to a new undisclosed premises.

Philip Fleming, spokesman for BBC Worldwide, is quoted as saying: "I can say that what we are planning will be significantly bigger.

"We want fans of Doctor Who in Cardiff and elsewhere to start getting excited about it … The plans involve a temporary closure, but we are sure the eventual gains will more than make up for that."

Sebastian Brooke, a Doctor Who enthusiast told the news provider that the series has done a great deal for Wales since its return in 2005 and that he hopes the new exhibition will bring even more Doctor Who fans to the area.
