A4 snap frames suit close reading at under 1.5 metres. A3 provides the step up in size needed for wall-mounted notices that must be read from the far side of a corridor, the entrance to a restaurant, or across a waiting room. The same content in A4 would require approaching the frame; in A3 it is legible from a comfortable standing distance.
UV Anti-Glare Cover Included
Every A3 snap frame includes a UV-stable anti-glare PVC cover sheet. At A3 size, frames are often positioned on corridor walls under overhead fluorescent lighting where standard acrylic creates reflections. The anti-glare surface eliminates these reflections, ensuring the poster content remains clearly readable at the typical 2 to 3 metre viewing distance for A3 installations.
Fits Corridor and Room Wall Spaces
A3 (420mm tall in portrait) fits between a standard dado rail and ceiling height on most UK commercial corridor walls where A2 (594mm tall in portrait) would not. This makes A3 the practical maximum frame size for many retrofitted office, NHS, and school corridor installations without requiring architectural changes to wall panel heights.
Portrait and Landscape at A3
A3 snap frames mount in portrait (420mm tall, 297mm wide) or landscape (297mm tall, 420mm wide) orientation. A3 landscape in particular suits wide corridor walls where portrait would be too tall and A4 landscape too small — providing the ideal intermediate footprint for directional and menu board display without exceeding corridor wall panel boundaries.
Lockable for Public and High-Traffic Spaces
For public toilets, lifts, stairwells, and busy corridors where unauthorised poster removal is a concern, our lockable A3 snap frames require an Allen key to access the insert. The lockable frame uses the same aluminium profile and UV cover as the standard frame — there is no visible difference to the viewer, only to anyone attempting to tamper with the content.

A3 is the right choice when A4 is too small to read at the viewing distance, but A2 is too large for the available wall space or the business does not have access to A2 printing. The most common A3 applications are restaurant wall menus, corridor event and information notices, meeting room and office directional boards, retail counter promotions, and door display where A4 portrait is too small but A2 portrait will not fit the door panel.
