Lockable Noticeboards

Lockable Noticeboards: Secure Tamperproof Display Cases

Protect your information in public spaces. Displaysense offers the UK's most robust range of lockable noticeboards and secure poster cases. Essential for unsupervised areas in schools, universities, NHS corridors, and outdoor community spaces, these boards feature reinforced frames and key locks to prevent unauthorized access, vandalism, or theft of notices.

Our collection spans from internal tamperproof noticeboards for school hallways to fully waterproof external noticeboards for parish councils and churchyards. Available in fire-rated options for compliance and a variety of finishes including felt, cork, and magnetic dry wipe, we provide the ultimate security for your public communications.

Shatterproof Glazing

Safety first. Instead of glass, we use high-impact polycarbonate or PETG glazing. This is virtually unbreakable, making it safe for schools and high-traffic public areas where accidental impact or vandalism is a risk.

Secure Key Locks

Control access. Every board features at least one heavy-duty barrel lock (larger sizes have two). Supplied with a set of keys, this ensures only authorized staff—such as facility managers or headteachers—can update the contents.

Fire Rated Options

Corridor compliant. For internal use in escape routes, we stock fire resistant lockable boards tested to Class B / Class 0. These meet strict building regulations for schools and hospitals, preventing flame spread.

Waterproof Seals

Outdoor use. Our external noticeboards are fitted with rubber gaskets and water channels. This weatherproofing keeps your community notices dry and legible, even during heavy British downpours.

Multiple Finishes

Felt, Cork or Magnetic. Choose the interior that suits you. Felt (in blue, grey, red, green) is great for pins; Cork offers a traditional look; Magnetic Whiteboard interiors allow for both writing and magnets.

Gas Strut Doors

Easy access. On larger top-hinged exterior models, we include gas struts (like a car boot). This holds the heavy door open safely while you change the posters, allowing for easy one-person operation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these boards fully waterproof?

Only the "External" or "Outdoor" models. These feature rubber seals and specific drainage channels. Standard "Tamperproof" boards are for indoor use only and will leak if placed outside.

Is the glass real glass?

No. We use high-impact polycarbonate or PETG. It is significantly stronger than glass and will not shatter into dangerous shards if hit, making it the safest choice for schools and public areas.

Do you accept School/NHS Purchase Orders?

Yes. We work extensively with the public sector. You can place orders via official Purchase Order for instant credit terms. Contact our sales team for details.

Can I get extra keys?

The boards come with a set of keys (usually two). We recommend keeping one safe as a master. Replacement keys can sometimes be sourced depending on the barrel type, but it is best to duplicate the original immediately.

Are they fire rated?

We stock specific Fire Resistant Lockable Boards that are Class B certified for corridors. Standard lockable boards may not be fire rated, so please check the product title and specs carefully.

How many sheets of paper do they hold?

Our sizes are often listed by capacity, e.g., "4 x A4" or "9 x A4". This tells you exactly how many standard A4 sheets you can display without overlapping.

Can I mount them on a fence or posts?

Yes. Our external boards can be wall-mounted or mounted onto posts (post kits sold separately). For fence mounting, you may need a railing kit depending on the fence type.

What is the difference between felt and loop nylon?

Felt is for pins. Loop Nylon is a tougher fabric that works with both pins and Velcro dots. Loop nylon is often used on our premium and fire-rated boards.

Do they have gas struts?

Top-hinged external boards usually feature gas struts to hold the door open for safety. Side-hinged indoor boards typically do not need struts.

Are they suitable for churches?

Yes. Our external lockable boards are very popular with Parish Councils and Churches for displaying community notices outside halls and grounds.
