Table Sign Holders and
Countertop Menu Displays

Table sign holders are freestanding countertop units that present menus, price lists, and promotional messages at a reading angle on tables, reception desks, and retail counters. Two main formats: L-stand (slanted back for counter reading from a standing position) and T-stand (upright, double-sided, for table reading from both sides simultaneously). Materials: crystal-clear acrylic, wood, and metal. Sizes DL, A6, A5, A4, and A3. Triangular three-sided and four-sided spinner formats for displaying multiple inserts from a single unit. No tools required to change inserts.

A table sign holder presents your menu, special, or price list at the specific viewing angle and height where it will be read most naturally: tilted back at a counter so a standing customer reads it without stooping, or upright at a table centre so diners on both sides see the same message. The format choice between L-stand and T-stand is the key decision for any countertop sign holder purchase.

Our most popular table sign holders include the A5 acrylic L-stand portrait holder for reception and retail counter positions, the A5 acrylic T-stand double-sided holder for restaurant table centres, and the A4 L-stand version for larger counter menus and price lists. For tabletop brochure and leaflet dispensing, see our table leaflet holders.

L-Stand or T-Stand
Any Surface

L-Stand for Counters, T-Stand for Tables

The L-stand (angled) holder tilts the sign backward so a standing customer at a reception desk, retail counter, or information point reads it at a natural downward angle without stooping. The T-stand (upright) holder presents the sign vertically in a double-sided format so diners on both sides of a restaurant table read the same menu, special, or message simultaneously. These two formats serve different viewing geometries and should not be interchanged.

Double-Sided T-Stand for Restaurant Table Centres

Our T-stand table talkers display different inserts on each face independently: the food menu on one side and the drinks list or dessert menu on the reverse, or the same promotional message on both sides for maximum visibility from either direction across the table. The upright stable base keeps the sign in position throughout service without tipping under typical table contact.

Crystal-Clear Acrylic for Full Sign Visibility

High-grade acrylic provides the optical clarity needed to display a professionally printed menu or price list without any yellow cast, distortion, or surface haze that would undermine the quality of the print. The sign insert is fully visible through the holder base and surround, keeping attention on the designed content rather than the holder itself. Shatter-resistant acrylic is significantly safer than glass in restaurant, café, and retail environments where holders are handled multiple times daily.

Wooden and Metal Holders for Hospitality Aesthetics

Clear acrylic suits contemporary restaurant and retail aesthetics where a minimal, transparent holder is part of the table design. Wooden menu holders suit traditional pub, gastro restaurant, and café table settings where a natural material is part of the venue character. Metal base holders suit industrial-aesthetic cafes and modern bars. All three materials provide the same fast slide-in insert change; the material choice is an aesthetic and durability decision specific to the venue.

Three-Sided and Spinner Formats for Multiple Inserts

Triangular three-sided holders present three different inserts simultaneously from a compact central table position, displaying a different page at each seating position around a restaurant table without additional holders. Four-sided spinner formats rotate to reveal additional content pages. These formats suit restaurants with separate food, drinks, and dessert sections, and counters with multiple service information pages that would require several individual holders in a standard L-stand format.

Slide-In Insert Change in Seconds

All acrylic table sign holders use a slide-in design: the insert drops in from the open top or side of the holder, and is removed by lifting or sliding back out. No tools, no clips, no disassembly. Daily specials, weekly menu changes, and seasonal promotional inserts can be updated by any staff member in under 30 seconds per holder, making table sign holders the most operationally efficient tabletop display format for content that changes frequently.

L-Stand, T-Stand or Multi-Sided?

For reception and retail counter positions where a single-sided sign is read from one standing direction, choose an L-stand angled holder. For restaurant and café table centres where the sign is read from both sides of the table simultaneously, choose a T-stand double-sided holder. For table positions requiring three or four different inserts from a single compact unit, choose triangular or spinner formats. For premium brand presentation where the display hardware is part of the table aesthetic, choose magnetic acrylic block holders.

For Reception Desks and Retail Counters

Our A5 L-stand holders and A4 versions are the counter standard for price lists, service information, promotional offers, and contact details at the natural reading angle for a standing customer. The angled format means the sign face tilts toward the customer for comfortable reading without the customer needing to lean forward or look down steeply.

For Restaurant and Café Tables

Our A5 T-stand table talkers are the table centre standard for restaurant daily specials, promotional messages, and drinks lists displayed for two or more diners from a single holder position. At A5 size the holder has a compact footprint suitable for most restaurant table sizes without encroaching on place settings. Use DL format for trifold menus and slim promotional cards.

For Premium and Luxury Counter Display

For upscale restaurants, hotel reception desks, and luxury retail counters where the quality of the display hardware must reflect the quality of the venue, our magnetic acrylic block sign holders present menus and price lists in a solid cast acrylic block with diamond-polished edges that communicates premium quality through the display hardware itself rather than simply holding the insert.

What is the difference between an L-stand and a T-stand sign holder?
An L-stand holder tilts the sign backward at an angle, presenting the sign face to a viewer standing in front of the holder at counter height. This angled format is designed for reception desks, retail counters, and information points where the viewer is standing and looking slightly down at the counter surface. A T-stand holder holds the sign vertically in an upright position with the sign visible on both faces simultaneously. This format is designed for restaurant and café table centres where diners on opposite sides of the table both need to read the same sign. Using an L-stand on a table or a T-stand on a counter produces a viewing angle that is uncomfortable to read from the expected position.
What size table sign holder do I need?
DL (99x210mm) suits trifold menus, drinks lists, and slim promotional cards at restaurant tables where an A5 holder would occupy too much of the place setting area. A5 (148x210mm) is the most popular table sign size for restaurant daily specials, café promotional messages, and hotel room information at a compact table footprint. A4 (210x297mm) suits counter price lists, retail promotional displays, and desk-level information panels where a larger display area is needed. A3 suits very large counter positions, information kiosks, and display positions where the sign must be readable from a greater distance than typical counter viewing distance.
Can table sign holders be used outdoors?
Standard lightweight acrylic table sign holders are not suitable for outdoor table positions. The lightweight acrylic construction tips over in any significant wind, and the slide-in insert format allows moisture to reach the paper insert in rain or damp conditions. For outdoor table and pavement positions, use heavier-based outdoor menu holders with enclosed inserts, or use outdoor chalkboard A-frames for handwritten daily specials. For covered outdoor terrace positions protected from wind and rain, standard acrylic holders work well with laminated inserts.
How do I clean an acrylic table sign holder?
Use a soft microfibre cloth with warm soapy water. Never use glass cleaners, alcohol-based sprays, or abrasive pads on acrylic, as these cause surface crazing (a network of permanent fine cracks that cloud the material). In a busy restaurant environment, wipe holders down after each table turn as part of the reset process. For holders that have yellowed slightly from repeated cleaning with incorrect products, specialist acrylic polish can restore surface clarity to an extent, but permanent crazing from solvent contact cannot be reversed.
What is a triangular three-sided menu holder?
A triangular three-sided holder has three faces arranged in a triangular cross-section, each holding a separate insert visible from one direction around the table. At a round restaurant table this presents a different menu page to each of the three seating positions from a single central holder unit without requiring three individual holders. Common uses include food menu on one face, drinks menu on the second face, and desserts or daily specials on the third. Four-sided spinner formats extend this to four pages and rotate so all four faces can be read from a single seating position.
Can I add branding to an acrylic table sign holder?
Yes. Vinyl sticker application to the acrylic base, back panel, or corner of a holder adds a logo or brand mark cleanly without damaging the material. Many restaurants and hotels print a branded insert that fills the holder and includes the logo as part of the designed sign rather than applying branding to the holder itself. For the highest-quality branded presentation, laser engraving the acrylic base is available as a custom option on larger orders.
Do you offer bulk pricing for restaurant chains and hotel groups?
Yes.
