A0 Snap Frames:
Extra Large Poster Display

A0 snap frames hold standard A0 paper (841x1189mm) — the largest standard ISO paper size, double the area of A1. 32mm aluminium profile is standard at this size for maximum grip strength on the longer frame sides. 1.5mm styrene back panel prevents the large poster from bowing or sagging. UV anti-glare PVC cover sheet included. Portrait or landscape mounting. Two people required for level wall installation. Silver and black in stock; additional colours available.

At 841x1189mm, A0 is the largest standard paper size available for wall-mounted poster display — used for shopping centre maps and wayfinding, department store window promotions, cinema foyer poster boards, and any position where A1 is too small to create the visual impact needed from the viewing distance.

Our most popular A0 snap frames include the A0 black snap frame for modern retail and cinema display, and the A0 silver snap frame for large-format institutional and corporate display. For outdoor wall-mounted A0 display, see our A0 lockable outdoor poster case in black.

Front-Loading Without Removing from Wall

All four spring-loaded edges open by hand to release the UV cover sheet and allow the poster to be changed from the front without removing the frame from the wall. At A0 scale, two people are required — one to hold the frame edges open and the cover sheet clear while the other inserts the new 841x1189mm poster without creasing it.

32mm Profile for Maximum Large-Format Grip

The 32mm profile is standard at A0 — it is not optional at this size. The wider profile provides the grip strength needed across 841mm and 1189mm frame sides to hold the large, heavy poster and PVC cover sheet securely without edge lifting or bowing over time. Budget A0 frames with 25mm profiles often fail to hold the poster flat at this scale.

1.5mm Styrene Back Panel Prevents Poster Sag

An A0 poster without rigid backing sags visibly under its own weight across the 1189mm height. Our A0 frames include a 1.5mm styrene back panel — thicker than the back panels used in A1 frames — providing the rigidity needed to keep the full 841x1189mm poster flat and taut against the PVC cover sheet throughout the display period.

UV Anti-Glare Cover for Distance Visibility

A0 displays are typically viewed from greater distances than A1 and A2 frames. The UV anti-glare PVC cover sheet eliminates the reflections from overhead lighting that reduce legibility at distance, and prevents sun fading that degrades large-format graphics in window-facing and atrium positions where A0 frames are most commonly installed.

Portrait and Landscape at A0

A0 snap frames mount in portrait (tall) or landscape (wide) orientation. The pre-drilled fixing holes are hidden beneath the profile and revealed when the edges are opened. At A0 scale, two people are required for level wall installation to handle the frame's size and weight during marking and fixing. Wall plugs and screws supplied.

Lockable A0 Outdoor Cases Available

Standard A0 snap frames are indoor-only. For outdoor wall-mounted A0 display, our A0 lockable outdoor poster case provides a cylinder-locked, rubber-sealed, vandal-resistant polycarbonate-glazed case for permanent external installation at this maximum standard size.

Maximum Impact for Lobbies, Cinemas and Forecourts

Choose A0 when A1 is not large enough to create the visual impact needed from the viewer's typical distance. A0 is the standard for shopping centre and airport wayfinding maps, department store atrium displays, cinema foyer poster boards, and large entrance lobby promotions where the content must be readable from 5 to 10 metres. For standard retail wall display and health and safety boards, A1 is typically sufficient.

For Shopping Centres, Airports and Atriums

Our A0 silver snap frame is used for wayfinding maps, floor plans, and venue information in shopping centres, airports, and large public buildings where the information needs to be legible to visitors standing several metres away. A1 maps at this scale are frequently too small to read without approaching the frame closely.

For Cinema Foyers and Event Venues

Our A0 black snap frame is the cinema and entertainment venue standard for event and programme poster display. The front-loading mechanism allows rapid poster turnover between screenings and events without removing frames. Black aluminium suits the low-light aesthetic of cinema and theatre entrance environments.

For Outdoor Forecourts and Large-Scale Retail

For A0 display outdoors — forecourts, building exteriors, and outdoor public spaces — our A0 lockable outdoor poster case provides waterproof, tamperproof, cylinder-locked display. For freestanding A0 forecourt display, our A0 wind-resistant waterbase pavement sign provides the wind stability needed for exposed outdoor positions.

Big Impact, Low Effort:
The Displaysense Advantage

Displaysense is a trusted UK supplier used by cinema chains, shopping centres, and large retail and institutional facilities. We understand that A0 large-format signage needs to be robust and genuinely easy to manage at scale. Our A0 snap frames include 1.5mm styrene back panels, 32mm reinforced profiles, and tested spring mechanisms that hold the full A0 poster flat and professional through years of repeated changes.

For the full snap frame range from A5 to A0, see our complete snap frames collection. Replacement A0 PVC cover sheets are available separately when the original cover becomes scratched over time.

What is A0 paper size in mm and cm?
A0 paper is 841 x 1189mm (84.1 x 118.9cm). It is double the size of A1 (594x841mm) and four times the size of A2. A0 has a total area of approximately one square metre, making it the largest standard ISO paper size in common commercial use. Standard and large-format printers cannot print A0 — you will need a wide-format print service (60-inch or greater roll printer). When designing files for A0, keep critical text and graphics at least 15mm in from all edges to avoid falling behind the 32mm frame profile.
When should I choose A0 over A1?
Choose A0 when the content needs to be read from a distance of 5 metres or more, when A1 is simply too small to fill the available wall space, or when the visual impact of A1 is insufficient for the environment. Common A0 applications: shopping centre wayfinding maps that visitors read while walking past, cinema foyer event posters in wide entrance lobbies, atrium and lobby promotions in large buildings, and department store window displays where the audience is pedestrians passing on the pavement outside. For standard office walls, corridors, and retail floor positions, A1 is typically the more practical choice.
Why does an A0 frame need a 1.5mm back panel?
An A0 poster spans 1189mm in height and 841mm in width. At this scale, even reasonably heavy 150gsm poster paper will sag and bow visibly under its own weight without a rigid backing. The 1.5mm styrene back panel provides the rigidity to keep the poster flat across the entire 841x1189mm surface. Budget A0 frames without adequate back panels produce a visibly rippled, unprofessional display. Our A0 frames use a thicker panel than those supplied with A1 frames in recognition of the greater rigidity required at this size.
Are A0 snap frames suitable for outdoor use?
Standard A0 snap frames are indoor-only. The aluminium profile is not sealed against moisture and outdoor rain and humidity would cause the paper poster to wrinkle and degrade. For permanent outdoor wall display at A0 size, use our A0 lockable outdoor poster case with rubber weatherproof gasket seals, cylinder lock, and vandal-resistant polycarbonate glazing. For freestanding outdoor A0 display, our A0 wind-resistant waterbase pavement sign provides the stability needed for exposed external positions.
How much of the poster does the A0 frame profile cover?
The 32mm frame profile overlaps the edge of your A0 poster by approximately 10mm on each side. When designing print files for A0 snap frames, keep all critical text and design elements at least 15mm in from the edge to ensure nothing important falls behind the frame profile. At A0 scale this is particularly important — the sheer size of the poster means designers sometimes position text close to the edge which then disappears under the profile on installation.
Do you sell replacement A0 PVC cover sheets?
Yes. Replacement A0 PVC cover sheets are available separately. At A0 scale, scratches from repeated poster changes are more visible due to the greater surface area in contact with hands and poster edges during changes. Replacing the cover sheet restores clarity without requiring a new frame at a fraction of the replacement cost. Contact our team to confirm the correct replacement cover specification for your specific frame model.
Do you offer bulk pricing on A0 snap frames?
Yes. We offer volume discounts for cinema chains, shopping centre management companies, large retail groups, and institutional facilities managers ordering A0 frames for multiple locations or large venue fit-outs. Purchase orders accepted from registered businesses and public sector organisations with 30-day credit terms. Contact our team for a consolidated quote covering A0 black and silver in a single order if required.
