Leaflet Printing:
Premium Double-Sided Flyers

Professional leaflet printing on 150gsm silk finish paper using 1200dpi Epson photo-grade printers. Double-sided printing included as standard. Sizes DL (99x210mm), A6, A5, A4, and A3. Printed to exact ISO dimensions so leaflets fit standard leaflet holders and dispensers without modification. Fade-resistant inks. Free file check before printing. 3 to 5 working day turnaround from artwork approval. Supply PDF or high-resolution JPG artwork; we do not design from scratch.

The weight of a leaflet communicates the quality of the business before the content is read. An 80gsm copier paper flyer feels disposable and is treated accordingly. A 150gsm silk leaflet feels substantial, is handled more carefully, kept longer, and read more thoroughly. The same content on a heavier paper stock communicates a different level of professionalism at the moment a customer picks it up from a leaflet holder or takes it from a member of staff.

Our printing service is designed to pair directly with our display hardware. Leaflets are printed to exact ISO dimensions so they slide into our freestanding leaflet holders, table leaflet holders, and wall-mounted leaflet holders without bending, folding, or sticking. The pocket lip on most leaflet holders covers 30 to 60mm from the bottom of the insert; keep all critical content and contact details above this level in your design.

150gsm Silk: The Professional Leaflet Standard

Standard office copier paper is 80gsm. Our 150gsm silk paper is nearly twice as thick, providing the substantial feel that customers associate with a serious business rather than a disposable handout. The silk surface provides a smooth, slightly sheen finish that holds ink with excellent colour reproduction and depth. Thick enough to resist creasing when handled, held, and carried; light enough to fold cleanly for trifold DL formats without cracking at the fold.

1200dpi Photo-Grade Resolution

We use commercial Epson photo-grade printers at 1200dpi, the resolution at which small body text is fully legible and photographic images reproduce with the full tonal range of the original file. At this resolution, the individual print dots are invisible to the naked eye at normal reading distance, producing output that reads as continuous tone rather than a pattern of dots. The correct specification for restaurant menus where small text must be legible, product brochures where photography must represent colour and detail accurately, and any print where image quality is part of the brand communication.

Double-Sided as Standard at No Extra Cost

Double-sided printing is included in our standard leaflet pricing rather than charged as an additional option. Use the front face for the primary visual and brand messaging that draws the customer in; use the reverse for detailed information, pricing tables, opening hours, menu listings, or contact details that the customer needs once engaged. A double-sided leaflet provides twice the information surface in the same physical size and with no additional cost over a single-sided equivalent.

Printed to Exact ISO Dimensions for Leaflet Holder Compatibility

We print to exact ISO standard dimensions so that leaflets fit directly into our leaflet holders across all formats without trimming, folding, or forcing into pockets. A5 leaflets printed to 148x210mm fit A5 holders precisely. DL leaflets at 99x210mm fit DL holders without overhang or loose movement in the pocket. This is the practical advantage of buying print from the same supplier as the display hardware.

Fade-Resistant Inks for Window and Reception Display

Leaflets displayed in window leaflet holders are exposed to natural UV light from the glass. Standard printing inks fade noticeably within weeks of sustained UV exposure, reducing colour saturation and making photographic imagery look washed out. Our fade-resistant ink formulation maintains colour vibrancy for significantly longer in window-facing and sunlit display positions, reducing the frequency of reprinting for businesses that use leaflet holders in window and reception positions rather than storing leaflets in a closed environment.

DL, A6, A5, A4, and A3 for Every Application

DL (99x210mm) is the standard trifold brochure and menu format fitting all DL leaflet holders, envelopes, and display pockets. A6 (105x148mm) is a compact handout format suited to event flyers, vouchers, and business card-adjacent promotions. A5 (148x210mm) is the most widely used standard leaflet size in UK commercial printing, balancing content capacity with compact display footprint. A4 (210x297mm) suits product sheets, detailed menus, and documents requiring more content than an A5 can accommodate. A3 (297x420mm) suits larger format promotional handouts and exhibition takeaway materials.

DL, A5 or A4?

Choose your leaflet size based on the content volume required and the display format the leaflet will be presented in. DL trifold for compact display in DL holders: standard for menus, service leaflets, and appointment information. A5 for standard promotional flyers and event programmes with moderate content. A4 for detailed product sheets, multi-item menus, and documents where content volume requires a full page. All sizes fit the equivalent format holders in our leaflet holder range.

For Restaurants, Takeaways and Hospitality

DL trifold is the standard takeaway menu, drinks list, and concierge information format. Three equal panels provide a natural content structure: cover image and brand on panel one, main content on panels two and three. Fits all DL leaflet holders and standard C4/C5 envelopes for postal distribution. A5 suits full restaurant menus where DL is too small for the content, and event programmes where a pocket-sized format is appropriate.

For Retail, Events and Promotional Handouts

A5 is the most versatile promotional leaflet format: large enough for photography and short copy on the front face, with the reverse providing full space for product information, pricing, and a call to action. Used at point of sale in leaflet holders, on exhibition stands in floor-standing carousels, and for event hand-distribution by staff. A6 suits compact handouts, vouchers, and promotional cards at a format larger than a business card.

For Professional Services and B2B

A4 suits professional services companies distributing product specifications, capability statements, and detailed service descriptions where the content volume exceeds what A5 can accommodate while maintaining legible body text. A4 leaflets are used in wall-mounted A4 leaflet holders in reception areas, in freestanding A4 floor holders at exhibition stands, and as handout materials at client meetings and trade shows where a more substantial document is appropriate than a standard promotional flyer.

Print and Display Together:
The Displaysense Advantage

Displaysense is a trusted UK supplier with over 45 years of experience in display and print solutions. Because we sell both the print and the display hardware, we know exactly how each leaflet size behaves in each holder format. Our leaflets are printed to precise ISO dimensions for direct compatibility with our full leaflet holder range. Our file check service identifies resolution and dimension issues before printing, preventing the frustration of receiving printed leaflets that do not meet expectations.

What is 150gsm paper and why does it matter for leaflets?
GSM (grams per square metre) is the standard measure of paper weight. Standard office copier paper is 80gsm; 150gsm is nearly twice as thick. The difference is immediately apparent when a customer picks up a leaflet: 150gsm has the substantial feel associated with professional brochure print, while 80gsm feels flimsy and disposable. A thicker leaflet is handled more carefully, kept rather than immediately discarded, and read more thoroughly because the paper weight signals that the content is worth reading. For trifold DL formats, 150gsm folds cleanly without cracking at the fold, unlike heavier card weights that would crack at DL fold lines.
What file format should I supply for leaflet printing?
Supply artwork as a PDF at the final print size with 3mm bleed on all sides, at 300dpi resolution. This is the professional print industry standard and produces the best output quality across all our formats. JPG and high-resolution PNG files are also accepted at 300dpi. Files below 150dpi at the final print size will produce visibly soft output where photography and fine text appear blurred at reading distance. We offer a free file check before printing: if your file has resolution issues or incorrect dimensions, we contact you before printing to avoid a poor quality result. We do not create designs from scratch; you supply the artwork file.
How should I design a DL trifold leaflet?
A DL trifold folds an A4 sheet (210x297mm) into three equal panels of 99x210mm each. The three panels create a natural reading structure: the outside front panel (the cover) should carry the primary brand image, headline, and call to action that makes a recipient open the leaflet; the inside panels carry the detailed content once opened; the outside back panel carries contact details and any secondary call to action visible when the leaflet is held with the cover facing away. Allow 3mm bleed on all edges and keep all critical content at least 5mm from each panel fold line, as fold alignment can vary by 1 to 2mm and content at the fold line may be obscured or split between panels.
What is the pocket lip coverage on leaflet holders and how does it affect my design?
The pocket lip (the transparent front panel of an acrylic leaflet holder) covers the bottom portion of the leaflet insert to hold it in position. The coverage depth varies by holder format: approximately 30 to 40mm on countertop table holders, 40 to 60mm on floor-standing holders. Any content within this depth from the bottom of the leaflet will be hidden behind the pocket front and not visible to someone browsing the holder. Keep all critical content, contact details, website addresses, and calls to action above the pocket lip level. Decorative background elements, brand colours, and borders that extend to the full page edge are fine to run into the pocket lip area.
Can leaflets be used outdoors?
Paper leaflets are not waterproof and are damaged by direct rain exposure. For outdoor promotional distribution, protect leaflets inside a weatherproof display holder such as an outdoor wall-mounted leaflet holder with a self-closing lid, or carry them inside a bag and distribute face-to-face rather than leaving them exposed to the elements. For outdoor display in a kiosk, pavement sign, or covered entrance position, the paper leaflet is protected by the enclosure rather than needing to be waterproof itself. Our outdoor display formats and pavement signs provide the weatherproof housing for outdoor information display.
How long does leaflet printing take?
Standard turnaround is 3 to 5 working days from artwork approval. The clock starts when your file check is completed and the artwork is confirmed ready to print, not from the moment of order submission. If your file requires corrections, we contact you before printing and the turnaround begins when the corrected file is approved. For event-specific deadlines, contact our team to discuss express turnaround options before placing your order, as availability depends on production schedule at the time of enquiry.
Do you offer bulk pricing for large print runs?
Yes. Tiered pricing applies from small quantities, with the per-unit cost reducing for larger print runs. Ordering in bulk for a seasonal campaign, a nationwide retail rollout, or a stock replenishment order covering several months of ongoing display is significantly more cost-effective per unit than placing multiple small repeat orders. Contact our team with your size requirements, quantity, and artwork to receive a quote before placing your order.
