Large Format Poster Printing:
A4 to 60x40"

Professional poster printing on 190gsm satin finish paper using Epson 1200dpi printers with fade-resistant UV-stable water-based inks. Standard ISO sizes A4 to A0 and imperial formats to 60x40". Satin finish eliminates the double-glare effect of glossy paper behind snap frame covers. Cut to precise frame dimensions for snap frames, pavement signs, and sign holders. Rolled and shipped in cardboard tubes. Free artwork file check before printing. 3 to 5 working day turnaround from artwork approval.

The paper choice matters as much as the print quality when producing posters for display hardware. Glossy photo paper behind the polycarbonate or acrylic cover of a snap frame produces a double-glare effect where both surfaces reflect ambient light simultaneously, making text difficult to read from any angle. Our 190gsm satin finish absorbs rather than reflects light, maintaining full colour depth while eliminating the surface glare that makes glossy posters unreadable in lit corridors and retail positions.

Our printing service is designed to work directly with our display hardware range. Posters are cut to the exact dimensions required for our poster snap frames, pavement signs, sign holders, and LED poster displays, including the correct bleed margin and safe zone for the frame profile overlap.

190gsm Satin: The Correct Paper for Snap Frames

Standard glossy photo paper placed behind the cover of a snap frame creates a double-glare problem: the glossy paper surface reflects light upward into the cover material, which itself reflects light, producing a combined glare that makes text unreadable from many viewing angles. Our 190gsm satin paper has a semi-matt surface that absorbs ambient and directional light rather than reflecting it. Full colour depth is maintained while the glare is eliminated, keeping the poster readable from any angle under any lighting condition in corridors, retail floors, and office positions.

A4 to 60x40" on a Single Print Service

We stock paper rolls covering all standard ISO sizes from A4 (210x297mm) through A3, A2, A1, and A0 (841x1189mm), plus imperial formats commonly used in cinema lobbies and bus shelter advertising: 30x40" and 40x60". Whether you need A4 posters for desk sign holders, A1 for retail window snap frames, or oversized cinema-format prints for large pavement signs and freestanding displays, all sizes are available from the same print service with consistent paper and ink specification.

UV-Stable Fade-Resistant Inks for Window and Extended Display

Posters displayed in window positions or under prolonged artificial light exposure fade from UV radiation in the light source. Standard printing inks fade within weeks in a south-facing window position. We use UV-stable fade-resistant inks that maintain colour vibrancy for significantly longer than standard formulations, extending the practical life of posters displayed in window snap frames, LED lightboxes, and any position with sustained light exposure. This reduces the frequency of reprinting and maintains display quality between campaigns.

Cut to Exact Frame Dimensions with Safe Zone Guidance

Because we sell the frames, we know the precise cut dimensions required for every product in our range. Snap frames have a profile that overlaps the poster edge by 10mm on each side; a poster cut to the nominal frame size (A1, A2 etc.) without accounting for this overlap will have content lost under the profile. We cut posters to the correct print size for the specific frame format, and can advise on the 15mm safe zone that keeps all critical content and branding clear of the frame profile on all sides.

Tiered Bulk Pricing for Campaign and Retail Rollouts

Whether you need a single A4 poster for a reception sign holder or 100 A1 posters for a nationwide retail campaign, tiered pricing makes bulk printing cost-effective at every scale. Ordering multiple copies of the same design in the same print run reduces the per-unit cost significantly compared to individual orders. For retail chains with multiple sites, campaign rollouts with a standard poster at each location, or hospitality groups updating menus across multiple venues, a single consolidated bulk order covers all requirements from one submission.

Water-Based Eco Inks for Indoor Environments

We use water-based, solvent-free inks that are odourless and environmentally responsible. This is the correct ink specification for posters displayed in enclosed indoor environments including schools, hospitals, offices, and food service areas where solvent-based ink off-gassing would be a health or regulatory concern. The inks are fully cured before dispatch with no residual odour on delivery. The water-based formulation also means the inks are recyclable alongside the paper substrate in standard paper recycling.

Standard ISO, Large Format or Cinema Size?

For snap frames and sign holders in standard commercial positions, ISO sizes from A4 to A0 cover all applications. For cinema, transport, and large-venue display in imperial formats, 30x40" and 40x60" prints suit standard industry formats. For LED lightbox displays, specify backlit film media rather than satin paper for full luminosity from the LED backlight. Contact us to confirm the correct print specification for any specific frame or display unit before ordering.

For Snap Frames and Sign Holders

Our snap frame range from A4 to A0 works directly with our poster printing service. Specify the snap frame size and we print to the correct dimensions including frame overlap allowance. For freestanding sign holders and pavement signs, the same satin 190gsm specification suits all standard display hardware positions.

For LED Lightboxes and Illuminated Displays

Standard satin paper is not suitable for LED poster displays. The LED backlight requires translucent backlit film media that transmits light through the print to produce the full luminous effect. Standard opaque satin paper blocks the backlight and produces a flat, dim appearance. Specify backlit film when ordering prints for any illuminated lightbox or LED display unit.

For Outdoor Display in Weatherproof Frames

The satin paper itself is not waterproof. For outdoor display, the poster is protected inside a weatherproof frame rather than being treated itself. Our lockable outdoor poster cases and pavement signs provide the weatherproofing; the satin paper print sits inside the sealed unit and remains protected from rain and moisture.

Print and Hardware Together:
The Displaysense Advantage

Because we supply both the print and the frames, we understand exactly how each needs to work with the other. Our posters are cut to the precise dimensions for our hardware rather than to nominal ISO sizes that may not account for frame profile overlap. Our 190gsm satin specification was chosen specifically to eliminate the glare problem that affects glossy paper behind snap frame covers. And our UV-stable inks maintain display quality for longer in the window and retail positions where our frames are most commonly installed.

Why use satin paper instead of glossy for poster display?
Glossy photo paper behind the polycarbonate or acrylic cover of a snap frame creates a double-glare effect: the glossy paper surface and the frame cover both reflect ambient light simultaneously, producing combined glare that makes text unreadable from certain angles. This is a particular problem in brightly lit retail corridors, reception areas under spotlights, and window positions with direct sunlight. Satin paper has a semi-matt surface that absorbs rather than reflects light, eliminating the glare while maintaining full colour depth. For posters displayed in open-front frames or standalone positions without a cover material, glossy paper may be acceptable; for posters inside snap frames with polycarbonate covers, satin is the correct specification.
What file format and resolution should I provide for poster printing?
For best results, provide artwork as a PDF at the final print size with 3mm bleed on all sides, at 300dpi resolution. JPG and PNG files are accepted at 300dpi or higher; files below 150dpi at the final print size will produce visibly soft output at large format. We offer a free file check before printing: if your image resolution is insufficient for the requested print size, we will contact you before committing to print to avoid a poor-quality result. For large format A0 and 40x60" prints where 300dpi files would be extremely large, 150dpi at final size is typically acceptable as these formats are viewed from a greater distance.
How should I design my poster for a snap frame?
Snap frame profiles overlap the poster edge by approximately 10mm on each side when the frame is closed. Keep all critical content and branding at least 15mm from the poster edge as a safe zone to ensure nothing is obscured by the profile. This applies to all four sides. The overall poster should be printed to the correct size for the frame: check our individual snap frame product pages for the exact recommended print dimensions, which include the overlap allowance rather than being the exact nominal ISO size. For A1 snap frames for example, the recommended print size is slightly smaller than the nominal 594x841mm A1 dimension.
Can poster prints be used outdoors?
The satin paper itself is not waterproof and would be damaged by direct rain exposure. For outdoor display, the poster is protected by the weatherproof casing of the outdoor display unit rather than by the paper itself. Place the satin poster inside a lockable outdoor poster case with rubber gasket seals, or inside a weatherproof pavement sign housing that protects the insert from rain. The paper remains fully protected within the sealed unit. For display in a window-facing position that is technically indoors but visible from outside, standard satin paper is entirely appropriate.
How long does poster printing take?
Our standard turnaround is 3 to 5 working days from artwork approval. The clock starts when your file check is completed and the artwork is confirmed ready to print, not from the moment of order submission. If your file requires corrections (resolution too low, incorrect dimensions, missing bleed), we contact you before printing and the turnaround restarts from when the corrected file is approved. For campaign deadlines, allow additional time for the file check process by submitting artwork several days before the required turnaround begins.
How are printed posters delivered?
All posters are carefully rolled face-outward and shipped in sturdy cardboard postal tubes to prevent creasing and surface damage during transit. This applies to all sizes from A4 upward. Do not fold a poster from a tube before display; allow it to unroll flat under its own weight for a few minutes before inserting into a frame. For very large format prints (A0 and 40x60"), the tube diameter is larger and the poster will flatten more quickly once removed. Posters arrive ready to frame without any pressing or treatment needed.
Do you offer bulk pricing for retail chains and campaign rollouts?
Yes. Tiered pricing applies from small quantities, with the per-unit cost reducing significantly for larger print runs. For retail chains requiring the same poster at multiple sites, hospitality groups updating menus across venues, or event companies printing multiple sizes of the same campaign design, a single consolidated order across all required sizes and quantities is the most cost-effective approach. Contact our team with your size requirements, quantities, and artwork to receive a bulk quote before placing your order.
