Display Stock and Lock the Backup in One Counter Cabinet

Most counter cabinets do one job. This one does two. The top is a lit glass display that shows a collection right at the counter, and hidden in the base below is a locked compartment for the backup stock, the spare packaging and the bits that keep a counter running. It is the largest cabinet in the counter range, the widest and the deepest, so the display area and the store beneath it are both bigger than anything else in the line. The two sections lock on their own keys, so the display and the store can be opened by different people. This is a Displaysense own design, sold only through Displaysense. Best suited to jewellers, electronics retailers and exhibition stands that want a full display and a hidden store in one counter footprint.

Why a Storage Display Counter Sells and Stores at Once

• A hidden store built into the base: Below the display sits a fully closed compartment with opaque sliding doors and its own lock, so backup stock, spare packaging, gift boxes and the odds and ends that keep a counter running stay to hand but out of sight, shut away under the merchandise on show.
• A lit glass display on top: The upper section is a glass showcase that presents a collection at counter height behind toughened panels, lit by LED strip lights so watches, jewellery and fine goods are seen clearly by a customer standing right at the glass.
• Two locks, two separate keys: The display and the store each turn on their own key, so sales staff open the showcase to serve a customer while the stock underneath stays shut for a manager or a named keyholder, giving two secured zones in a single counter.
• Four LED strip lights in the display: Four LED strip lights are fitted into the display section and light the merchandise the full width of the showcase, so a piece at either end is lit as clearly as one in the middle, run from a normal UK plug with no wiring to sort out.
• Fire tested as one whole unit: Both halves of the cabinet, the display and the store, carry fire testing together to BS 5852:2006 Section 12, the fire rule that covers furniture in shops, venues and public rooms, so it clears the checks a public-sector or contract order runs before sign-off.

Where a Lockable Storage Showcase Fits a Retail Floor

Set behind toughened glass, the upper section shows a collection at counter height, lit by LED strip lights so watches, rings and fine goods catch the light across the showcase. Lockable sliding glass doors let staff reach in from the serving side to lift a piece out or make a handover, then slide shut and lock. This top section is the widest and deepest showcase in the counter range, with room across and back for trays, tiered stands and grouped pieces.

Underneath that display, hidden from the customer, sits a fully closed storage compartment. Opaque sliding doors cover the contents completely, so from the shopper's side the base looks like a solid black plinth holding the glass up, not a cupboard full of stock. Backup pieces, spare packaging, gift boxes, cleaning cloths and the odds and ends that keep a till point running lock away inside, the biggest hidden store in the range, reached by staff from the rear on its own key.

A display key and a store key come separately with the cabinet, and keeping the two apart is deliberate. On a shop floor, sales staff hold the display key to serve from the showcase while the store key stays with a supervisor who controls the backup stock. On a stand, the display key opens the product while the store key shuts away brochures, tools and the team's bags. That turns one counter footprint into two secured zones, which helps where temporary crews work beside permanent staff or several people share one counter through the day.

Both sections sit in a black aluminium frame that stands up to scratches, marks and fingerprints in daily trade, with adjustable feet to bring it level on an uneven floor or a temporary hall stand. The cabinet ships flat-packed and is straightforward to put together yourself, fixings and instructions supplied, with two people advised for the glass panels and the weight. Both the display and the store are covered by independent fire testing to BS 5852:2006 Section 12. This is exclusive to Displaysense, an own design sold direct and nowhere else.
