Good quality, with a sturdy
"Good quality, with a sturdy construction and a perfect display cabinet for my items"
A framed display cabinet shows you the frame first and the contents second. A frameless cabinet shows you the contents and nothing else. The DCF1000W is a 1000mm wide white wooden display cabinet with frameless glass panels that create an uninterrupted view of the items inside from every angle. There are no vertical aluminium bars or thick frame profiles breaking the sightline between the viewer and the display. The glass panels meet at the corners without a visible frame, producing a clean, contemporary silhouette where the contents appear to float inside the cabinet rather than sitting behind bars. Integrated LED lighting illuminates the interior from above, casting even light across all four glass shelves. The lockable double glass doors provide security for valuable items in retail, gallery, reception and public environments. The white wooden base and top panels anchor the glass in a neutral finish that suits light interiors, gallery walls, retail floors and corporate reception areas. UK-designed by Displaysense, the UK's largest display cabinet specialist since 1978.
| Jewellery, Luxury Retail | High-value merchandise behind lockable glass with LED illumination. The frameless design maximises the visual impact of the product rather than competing with it. The white finish suits premium retail interiors where clean, minimal display is the standard. |
| Galleries, Museums | Artefacts, artworks, ceramics and historical objects displayed behind secure frameless glass. The LED lighting creates gallery-standard illumination. The lockable doors protect items from handling while maintaining full visibility for visitors. |
| Corporate Reception, Offices | Awards, trophies, corporate memorabilia and brand heritage items displayed in reception areas, boardrooms and office lobbies. The white finish coordinates with professional interior schemes. The lockable doors secure valuable items in high-traffic reception areas. |
| Schools, Colleges, Universities | Trophy cabinets, student achievement displays and departmental showcases in entrance halls, corridors and reception areas. The lockable doors protect contents in public-access environments. The removable shelves accommodate everything from small medals to large cups. |
| Collectors, Hobbyists | Model collections, figurines, memorabilia and curated personal displays in home environments. The frameless glass and LED lighting create a retail-quality presentation for private collections. The white finish suits living rooms, studies and dedicated display rooms. |
| Healthcare, Council Buildings | Information displays, heritage showcases and award cabinets in NHS trusts, council offices, libraries and public buildings. The lockable security, removable shelving and professional white finish meet the practical and aesthetic requirements of public-facing institutional environments. |

DCF1000W Double Door Lockable White Wooden Frameless Glass Display Cabinet. 1830mm H x 1000mm W x 465mm D. 104kg. 4 removable glass shelves. Integrated LED. Lockable double doors. White wood base and top. Frameless glass panels. Adjustable feet. UK-designed by Displaysense since 1978. Direct from supplier.
Traditional display cabinets are built around a frame. Aluminium posts at each corner, metal rails along each edge, visible brackets holding the glass in place. The frame provides the structure, but it also provides the obstruction. Every vertical bar is a line that interrupts the view of the contents inside. Every horizontal rail is a shadow across the display. The frameless design on this cabinet removes all of it. The glass panels meet at the corners without a frame in between. The contents are visible from every angle, from every approach direction, at every height, with no bars, no posts and no visual interruption between the viewer and the item they are looking at. For displaying jewellery, awards, collectibles, luxury products or museum pieces, the difference between framed and frameless is the difference between looking at a display and looking through a cage.
The integrated LED lighting is positioned at the top of the cabinet, casting even illumination down through the glass shelves so that items on every level receive light rather than just the top shelf. The LEDs are energy-efficient and emit minimal heat, which is not just an energy-saving feature but a preservation one. Temperature-sensitive items, collectibles with painted finishes, electronics, fabrics and anything that prolonged heat exposure could damage or degrade sit safely under LED illumination in a way they would not under halogen or incandescent cabinet lighting. The light quality is clean and neutral, providing the kind of illumination that retail and gallery environments use to present products at their best without colour distortion.
The lockable double glass doors are the security element that allows this cabinet to function in public environments. In a retail shop, a school corridor, a council reception, a hospital trust lobby or a gallery floor, the contents need to be visible but not accessible. The lock mechanism secures both doors with a single key. The lock hardware is integrated without disrupting the frameless aesthetic: no bulky hasps, no padlock loops, no visible security features that make the cabinet look like a strongbox rather than a showcase. Open the doors to rearrange the display. Close and lock them and the contents are protected.
The four adjustable glass shelves move to accommodate items of varying heights. The glass shelves maintain frameless transparency throughout the interior, allowing LED light to pass through from above to the lowest level. The white wooden base and top panels anchor the frameless glass in a clean, contemporary finish. At 1830mm tall, 1000mm wide and 465mm deep, the cabinet provides substantial display capacity while fitting against a wall. Adjustable feet level on uneven floors. Ships in sections that fit through standard doorways. UK-designed by Displaysense since 1978. Direct from the supplier.

Q: What does frameless mean?
A: The glass panels meet at the corners without aluminium frames, thick profiles or vertical posts in between. There are no bars interrupting the view from any angle. The contents inside are visible from the front, from both sides, and from a distance without any visual obstruction between the viewer and the displayed item. Framed cabinets have aluminium posts at each corner that break the sightline and cast shadows across the display. Frameless cabinets remove all of that for maximum visual clarity.
Q: How secure is it for public spaces?
A: The double glass doors lock with a key, securing the contents in retail shops, school corridors, council receptions, gallery floors, hospital trust lobbies and any setting where items need to be visible but not accessible. The lock mechanism is robust without being visually intrusive on the frameless design.
Q: Will the LED lights damage sensitive items?
A: No. The integrated LEDs are energy-efficient and emit minimal heat. Temperature-sensitive items, collectibles with painted finishes, electronics and fabrics sit safely under LED illumination without the heat damage that halogen or incandescent cabinet lighting can cause over time.
Q: Can the shelves hold heavy items like trophies?
A: Yes. The four removable glass shelves accommodate trophies, awards, electronics, ceramics, framed photographs, merchandise and display equipment of varying weights. The shelves adjust in height to fit items of different sizes on different levels: tall cups on one shelf, smaller figurines on the next, flat items or literature on a third. The glass shelves are reinforced to handle the loads that retail, educational and collector display environments require.
Q: Will it fit through my doorway?
A: Yes. The cabinet ships in sections specifically designed to fit through standard UK doorways. Assembly on site follows the included instructions. One person can assemble in under an hour. You do not need to remove doors or disassemble frames to get it into the room.
Q: What if my floor is uneven?
A: The cabinet includes adjustable feet that level the unit on slightly uneven surfaces. At 104kg the cabinet needs to stand level for stability and safe operation of the glass doors. The adjustable feet compensate for the minor unevenness found on most commercial and domestic floors.
Q: Will the white finish match my interior?
A: The white wooden panels are a clean, neutral white that coordinates naturally with gallery walls, white reception desks, light retail interiors and contemporary office environments. The neutral tone works as a background rather than competing with the displayed items.
Q: Is this suitable for a school trophy cabinet?
A: Yes. The lockable doors secure trophies, cups, medals, shields and student achievement displays in entrance halls, corridors, reception areas and assembly spaces. The adjustable shelves accommodate items of varying heights from small medals to full-size championship cups. The frameless glass and LED lighting present the achievements with the visual quality they deserve, which matters in educational environments where the trophy cabinet is one of the first things visitors, parents and prospective students see when they enter the building.
Q: Is this suitable for jewellery retail?
A: Yes. The frameless glass maximises visibility of the merchandise from every angle. The LED lighting illuminates jewellery with clean, neutral light that does not distort colours. The lockable doors provide security for high-value items. The white finish suits premium retail environments.
Q: Is there a black version?
A: Yes. The DCF1000B is the same 1000mm frameless cabinet with black wooden panels instead of white. Same glass, same LED, same lock, same adjustable shelves. Choose white for light interiors and galleries. Choose black for darker retail environments and contemporary commercial spaces.
Q: Is there a smaller version?
A: Yes. The DCF800W provides the same frameless design at 800mm wide for tighter spaces. The DCF465W is a single-door 465mm model for narrow positions. All models share the same frameless glass, LED lighting and lockable security.
Q: How is it delivered?
A: Free UK mainland delivery. Ships in sections that fit through standard doorways. Ground-floor, accessible delivery point required. Assembly on site with included instructions.

Whether frameless or framed, freestanding or wall-mounted, white or black depends on what you are displaying, where the cabinet will stand, how much security the contents require, and whether maximum visibility or structural framing better suits the space. Frameless glass maximises the view. Framed cabinets provide additional structure. These guides help you choose.
For a narrower cabinet, the 800mm white frameless DCF800W fits tighter spaces. For a darker finish, the 1000mm black frameless DCF1000B suits darker interiors. Direct from Displaysense, no reseller.

"Good quality, with a sturdy construction and a perfect display cabinet for my items"
"Great cabinet. Looks really stylish in our lounge with my crystal / mineral collection inside."
"Light up a beautiful cabinet"
"One big gripe - those lights are very difficult to screw in. I had to get a flat screwdriver and twist it horizontally to widen the gap, just to get them started. Also the glass shelves sag under their own weight. Other than that it looks good."
"Stunning showcase for our GCSE and A level product design work - many compliments received thank you!"
"The display cabinet is very good. A high quality product which shows off our glass collection a treat. Construction of the cabinet was challenging and certainly took more than an hour to complete. The instruction sheet was not detailed enough. But overall we are very happy with the cabinet."
"Look good"
"Beautiful cabinet easy to build came on time very good service and staff were loverly on the phone."
"All good delighted with the Cabinet,Excellent customer service all as explained arrived on time Thankyou David"
"Great display cabinet. One of about 7 we’ve purchased from Displaysense over the past few years. Unfortunately this one arrived with a tiny component missing and a small chip on one of the glass doors. Displaysense telephoned me a few days after delivery and on hearing about the problem they arranged to send me the missing component and reimburse me the cost of getting a replacement door. Great customer service. Would order from them again."
