The DTS1201 is the widest cabinet in our DTS series, giving a full product range, complete trophy history or larger collection room to sit together across one set of shelves. The silver aluminium frame reflects surrounding light, helping a cabinet of this size feel lighter in a bright room rather than visually heavy. Glass extends around the sides, rear and doors, so the contents remain visible from every angle. The sides, rear and both doors are made from 4mm toughened glass, which is heat treated to make it more resistant to breakage and designed to break into small blunt pieces rather than sharp shards if damaged. The shelves use 5mm tempered glass, making them a millimetre thicker because they support the weight of the displayed items throughout everyday use. With toughened glass used around every side of the cabinet, there are no solid panels blocking the view of the contents.
BS 5852 is the British Standard covering how furniture behaves in a fire, with Section 12 applying to furniture used in commercial and public buildings. This cabinet was tested as a complete assembled unit, including the glass, frame and fittings, rather than as separate components. That is the form of testing typically requested by procurement teams in schools, hospitals, museums and councils. The certificate is ready to download, allowing it to be passed to a buyer or facilities manager as soon as required.
The shelf system runs on a rod track through the full internal height of the cabinet. Rather than fitting into fixed holes at set intervals, each shelf clamps to the rod at the chosen position and locks in place without tools. This lets you arrange the shelving around the items being displayed instead of working within preset shelf gaps. All four shelves can be removed when the full cabinet height is needed for a taller piece. If you need more than the four shelves supplied, get in touch after purchase and we will provide the exact cutting sizes for a local glazier, together with the extra support rods.
The two hinged doors open outwards, leaving the full cabinet width clear for restocking or changing the display. One key operates the lock and secures both doors together, with two keys supplied. The cabinet is freestanding on its own base and does not require wall fixing. It is delivered flat packed with all fixings and printed instructions included, and an assembly video is available on our video hub to follow during the build.
