A Silver Glass Display Cabinet That Spotlights Every Shelf

The DTS601 turns a slim footprint into a lit glass tower for the pieces worth showing off. Four glass shelves climb a tall silver-framed column, each one giving a single showcase item, a pair of trainers, a handbag or a collectible, room to sit on its own rather than crowded in with the rest. Ten daylight LED spotlights run overhead and down both sides so every level gets its own clean light, toughened glass wraps each face for a clear view from across the floor, and a key lock keeps a high-value display secure. The silver anodised frame stays understated against concrete, white or contemporary interiors. This is a Displaysense in-house design, sold exclusively through Displaysense. Best suited to footwear and streetwear retail, collectible and jewellery display and premium showrooms where each piece deserves its own lit shelf.

Why a Lockable LED Display Case Suits High-Value Pieces

  • Room for a hero piece on every shelf: Each glass shelf gives a pair of trainers, a handbag or a single collectible space to sit on its own, so a premium piece is the focus of its level rather than lost among others. It suits display that leads on one item at a time.
  • A spotlight trained on every level: Ten daylight LEDs, set overhead and down both sides, put clean light on all four shelves so no piece sits in shadow. The neutral daylight tone keeps colours true across leather, metals, glass and printed packaging.
  • Toughened glass on every face: The sides and the hinged door are clear toughened glass, giving a shopper an open view of the piece from the front and both flanks. The sealed case keeps dust off a high-value item while it stays fully on show.
  • Shelves that move on a full-height track: Each glass shelf lifts and resets along an internal track to any height by hand, with no fixed holes or tools. Set them close for a run of smaller pieces or open the spacing for a tall boot or trainer, and take them out for one full-height display.
  • Secured and certified for public settings: A keyed lock and two supplied keys keep a valuable display shut, while independent public-use fire testing clears the cabinet for retail, healthcare, education and civic buildings that turn unrated units away.
  • A clean silver design, exclusive to Displaysense: Designed in-house since 1978 and sold through Displaysense alone, the pale silver frame keeps the tall column understated rather than heavy. Adjustable feet bring the base level and square on floors that are not quite true.

The Settings a Freestanding Glass Showcase Belongs In

Footwear and Streetwear Retail A lit glass tower puts a hero trainer or a limited drop on its own shelf at eye level, the treatment sneaker and streetwear buyers expect. The lockable case protects high-demand stock while keeping it in full view on the shop floor.
Jewellers and Watch Retail A single piece or a small tray sits under its own light behind a key lock, giving watches, fine jewellery and precious items the secure, well-lit presentation they need. The slim tower fits a counter run or a wall bay without crowding it.
Collectibles and Memorabilia Figures, models, signed items and limited editions each take a lit shelf in a sealed, dust-free case. Collectors and specialist retailers get a secure showcase that presents one prized piece per level rather than a cluttered shelf.
Museums, Galleries and Heritage A single artefact or small object shows in a controlled, dust-free case with a fire rating and lock that meet the standards these spaces require. Glass on every side lets visitors read the piece from around the cabinet.
Premium and Boutique Retail Bags, accessories and signature products present one at a time in a lit case that reads as considered rather than busy. The silver frame suits a contemporary, pared-back interior and keeps the focus on the product itself.
Awards and Corporate Display Trophies, milestone pieces and branded objects show off individually in reception and boardroom settings, each on its own lit shelf behind a locked, glazed front that keeps them secure and dust-free.

Tighter on Space, or Need a Darker Finish?

Where floor width is scarce, the narrower silver cabinet gives the same all-glass display in a slimmer column, and a matching black version suits darker interiors. Choose this model when each piece deserves a little more room and its own light than the slimmest cabinet gives.

The Displaysense DTS601 is a silver aluminium freestanding glass display cabinet, a display-only model with no base storage, built to a 600mm width, exclusive to Displaysense and designed in-house. Dimensions: 1800mm H x 600mm W x 400mm D. Silver anodised aluminium frame with 360-degree 4mm toughened glass sides and door. 4 tempered glass shelves, rod-track height adjustable, 12kg each. 10 daylight LED spotlights. Single hinged lockable door, 2 keys. Levelling feet. Fire rated to BS 5852:2006 Section 12 for public and commercial use. Flat-packed self-assembly. Suitable for retail floors, showrooms, jewellers, museums, galleries, exhibitions, hospitality and corporate display. Also available as a narrower 400mm silver cabinet, a black 600mm cabinet, and models with base storage across the range. Displaysense, UK display specialist since 1978. Free UK mainland delivery.

The DTS601 is a tower cabinet, tall and narrow, that stacks four glass shelves up a single silver-framed column on a small floor footprint. Because the display runs upward rather than across, it puts a full set of pieces on show without taking much floor space. Each shelf holds one item as its focus, a trainer, a bag, a trophy or a collectible, lit on its own level, which is why the format suits premium retail and showcase display where individual pieces lead. The whole height inside is given to display, with no storage section using up any of the space.

Every upright side of the cabinet is glass. Clear toughened glass forms the two sides and the hinged front door, so the display is visible from the front and both sides at once, not only head-on. The glass is toughened for the strength and safety a busy public room needs, and the door shuts on a key lock, so a high-value piece stays sealed against dust and stray hands while staying in full view.

The shelves are what make the tower flexible. Each pane of toughened glass sits on a track that runs the full height inside, and lifts out and re-seats at any level by hand, so you set the gaps to suit whatever is on display. A row of smaller pieces, a tall boot or trainer, or a single centrepiece can each be given the right amount of room. Ten LEDs, two more than the narrowest model, are built into the frame overhead and along both sides, lighting every shelf evenly in a daylight tone so no piece is left dim.

The cabinet is built for professional, public-facing use. The frame is silver anodised aluminium, which stays rigid and light, does not corrode and holds a pale, understated finish, and the cabinet is independently fire tested to a recognised public-use standard, which allows it in rooms an untested unit is kept out of. It ships flat and is assembled where it stands, so even at this width it fits through an ordinary doorway, and adjustable feet level it and hold it steady on a floor that is not quite flat.

Common Questions About This 600mm Display Cabinet

Q: What is the best display cabinet for showing footwear or a single premium piece?

A: The best display cabinet for footwear or a single premium piece is the DTS601, a slim 600mm silver tower whose four glass shelves each give a trainer, a handbag or a collectible its own spotlit level behind toughened glass. Ten daylight LEDs light every shelf, the sealed case keeps a high-value item dust-free and on clear view, and a key lock and public-use fire rating suit customer-facing rooms. It shows one hero piece per shelf rather than a crowded display.

Q: How does the 600mm compare to the narrower 400mm DTS401LED?

A: Shelf room and lighting. This 600mm tower gives each shelf a little more room than the 400mm, enough for a trainer or a handbag to sit comfortably on its own level, and it carries ten LEDs rather than nine. The narrower model is the slimmer column for the smallest pieces and tightest spaces. Both use an identical silver frame, glazing, rod-track shelving and key lock, so the choice is about how much room each piece needs and how much floor you have.

Q: How many shelves does it have, and can they be repositioned?

A: It has four tempered glass shelves, each rated to 12kg. They sit on a track that runs the full height inside, so any shelf lifts and resets by hand at whatever spacing a display needs, with no tools or fixed holes. Remove them all and the case opens into one tall, full-height display.

Q: Why does it have ten LEDs rather than nine?

A: The 600mm interior carries two more spotlights than the narrowest model so every shelf is lit evenly corner to corner. All ten run a 6400K daylight tone, which keeps colours accurate and stops any piece falling into shadow.

Q: Is the display secure and dust-free?

A: Yes. The full toughened-glass enclosure seals the contents on every side, and the hinged door shuts on a key lock with two keys provided. A high-value piece stays protected against dust and handling while remaining on clear view, which suits jewellers, galleries and premium retail.

Q: Is it fire rated for public and commercial settings?

A: Yes. The cabinet carries independent BS 5852:2006 Section 12 certification, the fire standard UK commercial display cabinets are held to. That clears it for shops, clinics, schools, galleries and civic buildings where an untested cabinet would not be allowed on the floor.

Q: How much can each shelf hold?

A: Each glass shelf holds up to 12kg, which comfortably takes footwear, a handbag, boxed electronics, ceramics or a jewellery tray on its own level. Keeping heavier pieces low and central keeps the loaded cabinet balanced and stable.

Q: Does it need fixing to a wall?

A: No. The 400mm depth and the wide base give a stable freestanding stance, so no wall bracket is needed. Adjustable feet screw down to level the footprint on floors that run off-true, which is common in older rooms and retail fit-outs.

Q: Will a cabinet this wide fit through a doorway?

A: Yes. It arrives flat-packed and is built from panels where it will stand, so even at 600mm wide it goes through a standard doorway in pieces and is assembled in the room. That makes it workable in buildings a pre-built wide cabinet could never be carried into.

Q: Will the silver finish suit a professional interior?

A: Yes. The pale silver anodised aluminium is a neutral, understated finish that keeps the tall column from looking heavy, sitting comfortably in showrooms, galleries and contemporary retail. Paired with the all-glass body, the cabinet reads as a considered fixture rather than shop equipment.

Q: Is this a Displaysense design?

A: Yes. This cabinet is a Displaysense own design, developed in-house and sold only through Displaysense, so it is not stocked by other retailers. Displaysense has designed and supplied display cabinets since 1978 and backs the product with direct support after you buy.

Q: How is a cabinet this size delivered?

A: Being a large, heavy cabinet, it comes in on a pre-booked mainland delivery at no cost, with a date fixed with you beforehand instead of arriving unannounced. The Delivery tab lays out the zones and handling in full.

Call us on 01279460460 or message the team and we will help you settle on a width.

FAQs

One big gripe - those

"One big gripe - those lights are very difficult to screw in. I had to get a flat screwdriver and twist it horizontally to widen the gap, just to get them started. Also the glass shelves sag under their own weight. Other than that it looks good."

Great display cabinet. One of

"Great display cabinet. One of about 7 we’ve purchased from Displaysense over the past few years. Unfortunately this one arrived with a tiny component missing and a small chip on one of the glass doors. Displaysense telephoned me a few days after delivery and on hearing about the problem they arranged to send me the missing component and reimburse me the cost of getting a replacement door. Great customer service. Would order from them again."
