2.2m Teardrop Flag with Drive-On Car Base and Custom Graphic Print
Most flags stop working the moment the wind drops. The fabric goes limp, the branding folds in on itself and your message disappears. This one does not. The 2.2m teardrop flag is held under constant tension by its glass fibre pole and integrated GRP whip, maintaining a drum-tight, fully readable branding surface in still air, light breeze and sustained gusts up to 45km/h. There is no droop. No dead moment. No reliance on weather conditions to keep your name visible. The drive-on car base anchors the flag to any parked vehicle, harnessing the multi-ton weight of a car, van or truck for unbreakable stability without a single bolt, spike or permanent fixing touching the ground.
Custom printing is included. Place your order, receive your artwork template, prepare your design and send it back. A real member of our UK print team reviews your files before production begins. Your flag is produced within 3 to 5 working days of artwork approval and dispatched with free standard UK delivery.
Why This 2.2m Teardrop Outperforms Standard Flags
- Tensioned teardrop shape that never goes limp: The glass fibre pole and GRP whip hold the polyester flag under constant tension, maintaining the distinctive teardrop silhouette in zero wind, light breeze and gusts. Feather flags flutter and fold when conditions change. This teardrop holds its shape and your branding stays readable every second it is deployed.
- 360-degree dye-sublimation print on translucent polyester: The ink is pushed directly into the 115gsm knitted polyester fibres using dye-sublimation, which creates a vibrant front-facing graphic and a bright mirrored image on the reverse. You get full visibility from both sides without the heavy, sagging blackout material that double-sided flags use. One flag. Two directions. No compromise on weight or aerodynamics.
- Drive-on car base for zero-footprint anchoring: The steel base slides under a vehicle tyre and uses the weight of the car itself as the anchor. No ground spike. No water weight. No surface penetration. No tools. Drive onto it, deploy the flag and your forecourt is branded in under two minutes with zero ground damage.
- 45km/h wind rating, 2.5x the industry standard: Rated to withstand winds up to 45km/h (28mph), compared to the 18mph rating on competing teardrop flags. The glass fibre pole flexes aerodynamically in gusts and returns to position. Your flag stays standing in conditions that bring lower-rated alternatives to the ground.
- 4kg total weight with soft carry bag: The entire kit, including pole sections, flag, whip and base, weighs approximately 4kg and packs into a soft carry bag included as standard. One person carries it from the showroom to the forecourt in a single trip. Engineered lightness, not flimsiness.
- 2-minute one-person assembly: The sectional glass fibre pole connects by hand, the flag slides over and the base drops under a tyre. No tools, no instruction manual, no second pair of hands. Your team deploys it at the start of the trading day and packs it away at the end.
- 3 to 5 working day production: While competitors quote 7 to 10 working days, your flag is produced within 3 to 5 days of artwork approval. For time-sensitive launches, seasonal events or last-minute campaigns, that difference matters.
- Concierge pre-press artwork review: A real UK team member reviews your files for resolution, colour profiles and print-area accuracy before production. No automated upload system. No glitchy online design tool. A professional template, a professional review and a print-perfect result.
Where Businesses Deploy This 2.2m Teardrop Flag
| Car Dealerships and Automotive Forecourts | The drive-on base was designed for this. Brand your forecourt entrance, mark individual vehicle bays or line the boundary of your lot without a single permanent fixing. The flag deploys in two minutes, repositions with the vehicle and leaves zero trace when removed. The 2.2m height sits neatly below showroom canopies and forecourt lighting rigs. |
| Hand Car Washes and Tyre Centres | High-visibility branding for roadside service businesses where flags need to be deployed and packed away daily. The lightweight kit and drive-on base make this practical for single-operator businesses who cannot afford time-consuming setup or permanent signage. |
| Food Trucks and Mobile Catering | Brand your pitch at a food market, festival or roadside location. The drive-on base anchors to the vehicle itself, which means the flag moves with you and sets up the moment you park. The compact 2.2m height avoids overhead obstacles and neighbouring pitch canopies. |
| Retail Forecourts and Petrol Stations | Promotional flags for seasonal offers, brand launches and directional signage at retail sites with tarmac surfaces where ground spikes are not an option. The 2.2m ground spike version is available for sites with grass verges or soft landscaping. |
| Pop-Up Events and Promotions | Brand activations, sampling events and temporary promotional setups where you need branded height but cannot penetrate the ground surface. The flag arrives in a carry bag, assembles in two minutes and packs down just as fast when the event ends. |

The Displaysense 2.2m Single-Sided Glass Fibre Teardrop Flag with Drive-On Car Base (TD2300DB) is a compact outdoor promotional flag with a tensioned teardrop shape, sectional glass fibre pole, integrated GRP whip, drive-on steel car base and single-sided custom-printed 115gsm knitted polyester flag. Dye-sublimation print penetrates the translucent fabric to create a mirrored image on the reverse for 360-degree visibility. Total assembled height: 2300mm. Wind-rated to 45km/h. One-person assembly in approximately 2 minutes. Total weight approximately 4kg. Soft carry bag included. Custom printing included. Drive-on base requires no fixings, bolts or surface penetration. Production lead time 3 to 5 working days from artwork approval. Suitable for car dealerships, automotive forecourts, hand car washes, MOT centres, tyre fitters, food trucks, mobile catering, retail forecourts and pop-up events. Also available in 3.2m and 5m heights, and with ground spike base for soft surfaces. Displaysense, UK display product specialists since 1978.
A flag on a forecourt has one job: be visible to people who are not looking for it. Drivers passing at speed. Pedestrians on the opposite pavement. Customers already on the lot who need to know where to go next. The moment a flag goes limp or folds in on itself, it stops doing that job. The 2.3m teardrop flag with drive-on car base is the flag that never stops. The tensioned teardrop silhouette holds its shape in still air, light wind and gusts up to 45km/h. Your branding is readable every second the flag is deployed, regardless of what the weather is doing.
The print is single-sided dye-sublimation on 115gsm translucent knitted polyester. That means the ink is pushed directly into the fabric fibres rather than sitting on the surface. The result is a vibrant, saturated graphic on the front face and a bright mirrored image that shows through on the reverse. Sunlight illuminates both sides naturally. You get genuine 360-degree brand visibility without the heavy blackout material that double-sided flags use, material that adds weight, reduces aerodynamic flex and makes the pole work harder in wind. The translucent single-sided approach gives you dual visibility and better performance in a lighter, more durable package.
The drive-on base is the feature that makes this flag practical for every hard-surface environment. Slide the flat steel base under a vehicle tyre and the multi-ton weight of the car, van or truck becomes your anchor. No ground spike. No water-filled weight. No bolts, brackets or permanent fixings. Zero ground damage. The flag deploys the moment you park and packs away the moment you leave. For businesses that operate from tarmac, concrete or paved forecourts, this is the only base system that leaves the surface completely untouched.
The entire kit weighs approximately 4kg, assembles in around two minutes by one person and packs into a soft carry bag included as standard. The glass fibre pole is engineered to deliver the tensile strength for 45km/h wind resistance at a fraction of the weight of aluminium or steel alternatives. When your branding changes or your next campaign launches, get in touch with our team to arrange a new printed flag for the same pole and base. The hardware is built for years of daily use.

Full specifications for the 2.2m teardrop flag with drive-on car base. The teardrop shape is what separates this flag from standard feather flags. The glass fibre pole and GRP whip maintain constant tension across the flag surface, holding the distinctive teardrop silhouette in still air, light wind and sustained gusts. Below is every detail your team needs before ordering.
| Specification | Detail | What This Means for You |
|---|---|---|
| Flag Shape | Teardrop (tensioned) | The rounded teardrop silhouette is held under constant tension by the pole and whip. Unlike feather flags that rely on wind to fill the fabric, the teardrop holds its shape and your branding is readable in zero wind, light breeze and gusts up to 45km/h. |
| Total Assembled Height | 2200mm (2.2 metres) | The most compact teardrop in the range. Designed for sites with low canopies, overhead structures or neighbouring pitch boundaries. Visible at street level without projecting above forecourt rooflines or temporary event structures. |
| Flag Material | 115gsm knitted polyester | Lightweight, flexible and translucent. The knitted construction allows dye-sublimation ink to penetrate fully, creating a vibrant front graphic and a bright mirrored image on the reverse for 360-degree visibility without heavy blackout fabric. |
| Print Method | Dye-sublimation (100% penetration) | Ink is bonded directly into the polyester fibres, not printed onto the surface. The colours are vivid and saturated, the detail is sharp, and the print will not crack, peel or wash off. The translucent fabric allows sunlight to illuminate both sides naturally. |
| Pole | Sectional glass fibre with GRP whip | Glass fibre delivers the tensile strength to maintain the teardrop profile under wind load while weighing a fraction of aluminium or steel. The integrated GRP whip locks the rounded tip into shape, preventing collapse or wrapping. |
| Wind Rating | 45km/h (28mph) | Rated to 2.5 times the wind speed of competing teardrop flags (typically 18mph). The glass fibre pole flexes aerodynamically in gusts and returns to position. Your flag stays standing in conditions that bring lighter alternatives to the ground. |
| Base | Drive-on steel car base | Slides under any vehicle tyre. Uses the weight of the car, van or truck as the anchor. Zero ground penetration, zero tools, zero surface damage. Deploys and removes in seconds. |
| Total Weight | Approximately 4kg | The complete kit, including pole sections, flag, whip and base, weighs approximately 4kg. Engineered for daily deployment by a single person. Light enough for a car boot, van shelf or checked luggage. |
| Assembly | 2 minutes, one person, no tools | The sectional pole connects by hand, the flag slides on and the base drops under a tyre. No instructions needed. Your team deploys it at the start of the day and packs it away at the end. |
| Transport | Soft carry bag included | The complete kit packs into a soft carry bag for storage and transport. Compact enough for daily use by mobile teams, market traders and event staff. |
| Artwork Review | Human-led by UK print team | Your files are checked for resolution, colour profiles and print-area accuracy before production. A professional pre-press review, not an automated upload system. |
| Lead Time | 3 to 5 working days from approval | Production from artwork approval, roughly half the lead time quoted by major competitors. Free standard UK delivery follows. |
| Also Available | 3.2m, 5m heights; ground spike base | Taller versions available for larger forecourts and open sites. Ground spike base available at every height for deployment on grass, soil and soft ground. |

Questions About the 2.3m Teardrop Flag with Drive-On Car Base
Q: What is the difference between a teardrop flag and a feather flag?
A: A feather flag has a loose, flowing shape that relies on wind to fill the fabric and make the branding visible. When the wind drops, the flag goes limp and the message folds in on itself. A teardrop flag is held under constant tension by the glass fibre pole and GRP whip, maintaining a taut, readable teardrop silhouette in still air, light breeze and sustained gusts. Choose a teardrop when you need your branding to be visible every second the flag is deployed, regardless of wind conditions.
Q: How does the drive-on car base work?
A: The flat steel base slides under a vehicle tyre. When the vehicle is parked on the base, its multi-ton weight acts as the anchor. There are no bolts, no ground spikes, no water weights and no permanent fixings. The flag deploys in under two minutes and removes the moment the vehicle moves. It is designed for tarmac, concrete and paved surfaces where ground penetration is not possible or not permitted.
Q: Does single-sided print mean the flag is blank on the back?
A: No. The flag is printed using dye-sublimation on 115gsm translucent knitted polyester. The ink penetrates fully through the fabric fibres, creating a vibrant graphic on the front face and a bright mirrored image on the reverse. Sunlight illuminates both sides naturally, giving you genuine 360-degree brand visibility. This is not blank-backed printing. It is a deliberate material choice that delivers dual visibility in a lighter, more aerodynamic flag than heavy double-sided blackout alternatives.
Q: What wind speed can this flag withstand?
A: 45km/h (approximately 28mph). That is roughly 2.5 times the wind rating of competing teardrop flags, which are typically rated to 18mph. The glass fibre pole flexes aerodynamically in gusts and returns to position. Your flag stays standing and readable in conditions that would bring lighter, lower-rated alternatives to the ground.
Q: How tall is the flag and where does the 2.3m measurement come from?
A: 2.3 metres is the total assembled height from the base to the tip of the flag. This is the most compact teardrop in the range, designed for forecourts with low canopies, event pitches with overhead structures and urban frontages where taller flags would project above neighbouring buildings or signage. Taller versions are available at 3.2m and 5m for sites that need greater visibility from a distance.
Q: Can one person set this flag up without tools?
A: Yes. The sectional glass fibre pole connects by hand, the flag slides over the pole, and the base drops under a vehicle tyre. One person completes the entire assembly in approximately two minutes with no tools, no bolts and no instruction manual. It is designed for daily deployment by forecourt staff, mobile sales teams and event operators who need to be set up fast.
Q: How heavy is the complete kit?
A: Approximately 4kg including the pole sections, flag, whip, base and carry bag. That is light enough for one person to carry from a car boot to the deployment point in a single trip. The weight reflects the engineered glass fibre construction, which delivers 45km/h wind resistance at a fraction of the weight of aluminium or steel pole systems.
Q: Is the custom printing included in the price?
A: Yes. Full-colour dye-sublimation printing on the flag is included. The price covers the printed flag, glass fibre pole, GRP whip, drive-on base and carry bag. You supply your artwork and our UK pre-press team handles the rest, including a personal file review before production begins.
Q: Do I need my artwork ready before placing the order?
A: No. Place your order now and prepare the artwork afterwards. We send a personalised template with exact flag dimensions and bleed guidance within 24 hours. Your production lead time does not start until our pre-press team has reviewed and approved your artwork, so you have time to get the design right.
Q: How long does production take compared to other flag suppliers?
A: 3 to 5 working days from artwork approval. Most competing flag suppliers quote 7 to 10 working days for equivalent products. Our production timeline is roughly half the industry standard, which matters when you are launching a campaign, responding to a competitor or preparing for an event on a tight deadline.
Q: Can I get a replacement flag for the same pole and base?
A: Yes. The glass fibre pole and drive-on base are built for years of use across many campaigns. When your branding changes or you need a new design for a specific event, get in touch with our team and we will arrange a new printed flag for the same hardware. It is a much more cost-effective approach than replacing the whole kit.
Q: What if I need the flag on grass instead of tarmac?
A: The same 2.3m teardrop flag is available with a ground spike base for deployment on grass, soil, sand and other soft surfaces. The pole, flag and carry bag are identical. Only the base changes. Contact our team if you need both base types for the same flag system.
Q: Will the drive-on base damage my vehicle or the ground surface?
A: No. The flat steel base is designed to sit under the tyre without scratching, marking or damaging the vehicle or the surface beneath. It distributes pressure evenly and removes cleanly when the vehicle drives off. The base leaves zero footprint on the ground and zero marks on the tyre or bodywork. It has been designed specifically for use on painted forecourts, dealer lots and customer-facing surfaces where presentation matters.
Q: What other heights are available?
A: The same tensioned teardrop design with drive-on car base is available in 3.2m and 5m heights. All sizes use the same glass fibre pole system, dye-sublimation printing and soft carry bag. Choose the height that matches your visibility requirements and site constraints. The 3.2m is suited to medium forecourts, and the 5m provides maximum presence at large open sites and events.

FAQs

Description

Specifications

FAQs
