Shaped as a rounded sail, the teardrop is drawn tight by a pole that curves over its top edge. Held under that tension, the front graphic stays open and readable even in the still air of a shop or a foyer, where a flat rectangular banner would hang slack against the pole. The mast is glass fibre, fine glass strands set in resin for a light, springy pole, and it is capped with a GRP whip that gives in a draught. Underneath, a square steel plate does the standing through weight alone.
