A Compact Single-Sided Teardrop Flag on a Weighted Plate

Close to a till or in a low-ceilinged corner there is no room for a towering flag, and where the display backs onto a counter or a wall only the front is read, so the TF2300SF pairs the smallest teardrop in the range with a single printed face to keep things low and the spend tight. A short rounded sail rises from a curved glass fibre pole seated in a weighted square plate that rests on the floor, standing the flag upright with nothing fixed down. The front carries the full design, while the back shows a soft mirror of it that goes unseen against a wall or a counter. Set the plate down, raise the pole, and it stands free in a tight footprint at customer height. Best suited for shop counters, point-of-sale spots and small reception areas where space is tight and the flag faces one way.

Why This Teardrop Display Works in Tight Indoor Spots

  • One face printed, all of it on show: The full design goes on the front, crisp and forward-reading, while the back keeps only a faint mirror of it. Stood by a till, an end of counter or against a wall, the flag shows that clean front alone, so the print budget lands on the side a customer actually reads.
  • Cheaper than a double-sided flag: Printing one face costs less than two, so for a close-range, one-direction spot you pay only for the side that sells and can place a flag at more counters or tills for the same money.
  • A weighted plate, nothing to fix: A heavy square steel base holds the flag by its own mass, sitting on the floor with nothing drilled, staked or parked on it. Rest it on a level surface, drop the pole into the socket, and the compact flag stands steady in a busy retail space.
  • Low enough for a tight or covered spot: As the shortest teardrop it stands under a low ceiling, a mezzanine or a shelf overhang and sits close to a counter without towering over it, marking the spot right where the customer is rather than far above.
  • A rounded sail that reads in still air: The curved pole keeps the teardrop taut, so the front graphic stays open and legible in the dead-still air indoors, where a flat banner would hang slack and unread against its pole.
  • Light to lift, quick to pack: The pole splits into sections and the fabric rolls into the bag supplied, while the plate carries easily, so one person sets it down or moves it in seconds without tools. The flag is backed by a 1 year guarantee on manufacturing faults.

Where This Small One-Sided Banner Fits

Shop Counters and Tills Flags an offer or a service right at the till where customers pay, with the back to the counter and the front to the queue. The low height sits at eye level beside the point of sale, and the weighted plate moves in seconds as displays change.
Point-of-Sale and Promotions Marks a promotion at the end of a counter or a display island so shoppers see it up close. A single printed face suits the one-way view, the compact sail keeps a small footprint, and the base needs nothing fixed to the floor.
Small Reception and Welcome Nooks Greets visitors in a compact reception or a tight lobby where a tall flag would crowd the space. The plate rests against a wall with the front facing the door, and the low teardrop reads at the height people stand.
Low-Ceiling and Mezzanine Areas Stands in a basement shop, under a mezzanine or below a low soffit where headroom is short. The compact height clears the ceiling, the single face does the job for a one-way spot, and the weighted base holds it on the hard floor.
Window and Counter Displays Sits inside a small window or on a display step facing the street, with the front selling and the back against the glass or wall. The plate holds it upright in the display, and the short sail suits a shopfront a taller flag would overshoot.
Cafe and Foyer Corners Points to a special, a menu board or a desk from a corner of a cafe or a foyer. The single front face is read on the approach, the plate needs only to rest in place, and the small size tucks into a spot without blocking the way.

Heading Outdoors?

This weighted plate is for hard, sheltered floors. Where the flag is going outside, the same compact teardrop is offered with a ground spike base for grass, or with a drive-on car base that a vehicle wheel holds down on a forecourt, giving you the same sail and print on a footing made for the ground.

Read from both sides? A double-sided version prints a true graphic on both faces. Call 01279460460 or message the team and we will talk it through.

TF2300SF is a 2.2m single-sided glass fibre teardrop flag from Displaysense, the most compact in the range, supplied with a 10.5kg square steel plate base and printing on one face. Its differentiator is a low freestanding teardrop with a single printed face for close-range, one-direction viewing, held upright by a weighted plate with no stake or vehicle. Height 2180mm, width 687mm. Base weight 10.5kg. A printed graphic of 687mm x 1517mm sits on the front face, with a soft mirror image showing through to the back. Raised on a glass fibre pole capped with a GRP whip, a polyester flag and a steel plate base; inner pole diameter 16.8mm. Sees off winds to 45 kph (28 mph), Beaufort Scale 6. Stood in place by hand in about two minutes, with a carry bag and a 1 year guarantee in the box. Suited to shop counters, point-of-sale spots, small receptions, low-ceiling areas and window displays. A double-sided print, plus a ground spike base for grass and a drive-on car base for hard outdoor ground, are also available. Displaysense, UK display product specialists since 1978.

A single-sided print lays the design on the front of the polyester only. Since the cloth is a single layer, light carries a softened, mirror-image version of it through to the reverse. Where the flag stands by a counter, against a wall or in a window, the front is the only side a customer reads, so a single print gives the same close-up impact for less than covering both faces would cost.

Shaped as a short rounded sail, the teardrop is drawn tight by a pole that curves over its top edge. Under that tension the front graphic stays open and readable even in the motionless air of a shop, where a flat rectangular banner would droop against the pole and lose its message. The mast is glass fibre, fine glass strands bound in resin for a light, springy pole, finished with a GRP whip that flexes in a draught. Across the range the inner pole diameter is a common 16.8mm, so fittings interchange between flags.

Below the pole, a square steel plate does the standing by weight alone. It sits flat on the floor and the pole drops into a central socket, so the mass of the base keeps the compact height upright with nothing drilled, staked in or parked on top. Since the hold is simply weight on a level surface, it belongs on hard floors indoors or under shelter; on grass a ground spike bites in instead, and on a forecourt a drive-on car base does the job.

Dye sublimation fixes the colour into the fabric, a heat process that vaporises the inks and drives them into the polyester so they dye the cloth rather than coat the surface. Set that way the front graphic keeps its colour under shop lighting and rolls down between uses without cracking. The front face is printed across an area of 687mm by 1517mm. Send the artwork in, the front is printed for you, and the flag stands up by hand in about two minutes.

Specification Detail What This Means for You
Total Height 2180mm (2.2m) The shortest teardrop in the range, low enough to stand under a mezzanine or a low ceiling and sit close to a counter at customer height.
Width 687mm A compact rounded sail that carries a clear front graphic on a tiny floor footprint, so it marks a till or a corner without getting in the customer's way.
Display Type Single-sided The front holds the full design and the back only a faint mirror, so it costs less than a double-sided print and suits a close-range, one-way view.
Printed Graphic Size 687mm x 1517mm, front face A full-shape canvas on the front, scaled to the compact flag. Set your artwork to this size and the printed front comes back ready to raise onto the plate.
Pole Material Glass fibre with GRP whip Flexes, does not snap. The curved pole draws the sail taut, and the GRP whip lets it give in a draught and spring straight again.
Inner Pole Diameter 16.8mm The common fitting across the whole flag range, so poles, bases and spares swap freely with the other teardrop and feather flags you run.
Base 10.5kg square steel plate base A weighted plate that holds the flag by mass alone on a flat floor, with no stake or vehicle. For grass, a ground spike is the one to pick.
Base Weight 10.5kg Enough mass to hold the compact 2.2m height steady on a hard floor, easily carried into place by one person in a single trip.
Flag Material Polyester, dye-sublimation printed The colour soaks into the fibres rather than sitting on top, so the front stays bright under shop lighting and rolls away between uses without flaking.
Wind Resistance Up to 45 kph (28 mph), Beaufort 6 The flexing mast lets a draught or a sheltered breeze slip past rather than toppling. For an exposed outdoor pitch, a spike or car base is steadier.
Assembly No-tool, around 2 minutes One person stands it in a couple of minutes, with nothing to screw or bolt; the pole simply drops into the plate socket.
In the Box Flag, square plate base, carry bag, 1 year guarantee The flag, its 10.5kg plate and a carry bag all arrive boxed together, covered against manufacturing faults for a full year from the delivery date.

Frequently Asked Questions About This 2.2m Single-Sided Teardrop Flag

Q: Which compact single-sided teardrop flag suits a shop counter?

A: The TF2300SF is built for it, a low 2.2m teardrop with one printed face. It stands at customer height beside a till rather than overhead, the 10.5kg plate keeps it upright on the floor with nothing to fix, and a single face is all a counter spot needs since the back is turned away. It is the smallest flag we make, so it tucks into a spot a larger display could not fill.

Q: What keeps the flag standing on a hard floor?

A: A 10.5kg steel plate does it by weight alone. Rest the plate level, drop the pole into its central socket, and the mass anchors the compact flag. Nothing is screwed or staked into the floor, so it lifts free to carry to another counter or corner whenever you need. There is nothing to dismantle, so a busy shop can reposition it through the day.

Q: What shows on the back of a single-sided flag?

A: A faint, reversed copy of the front design, paler than the printed side. The flag is meant to sit with that back against a counter, a wall or a window, so the only side anyone really sees is the crisp printed front. For a window or a counter, the front is all that matters.

Q: Is this outdoor marketing display right for point-of-sale and tills?

A: Yes. It stands at a till or a counter end facing the queue, with the reverse to the fixture behind. The weighted base holds it on the shop floor without fixings, the low sail reads at the customer's eye line, and one printed face covers a one-way view.

Q: Will it fit where the ceiling is low?

A: Yes. At 2.2m it is the shortest teardrop, slipping under a mezzanine, a soffit or a basement ceiling that a taller flag would catch. It sits low and close rather than high overhead, which is exactly what a counter or a compact shop needs. The low profile also keeps it clear of light fittings and hanging signage.

Q: Can one person stand it up in a hurry?

A: Yes, in around two minutes by hand. The pole sections push together, the printed front sleeves over them, and the pole drops into the plate. At 10.5kg the base carries easily, so a single person sets it down ready to go without any tools.

Q: How tall is it, and what size is the printed front?

A: It is 2180mm, about 2.2m, the most compact teardrop made. The front prints at 687mm x 1517mm, the size to supply artwork at. That low, close reach suits a till, a window or a corner rather than a wide open hall. For a large space, a taller teardrop in the range carries further.

Q: What separates the single-sided TF2300SF from the double-sided TF2300DF?

A: The same 2.2m teardrop and 10.5kg plate sit under both, so only the print differs. The TF2300SF prints the front and leaves a faint mirror behind, costing less and made for a flag against a counter or a wall. The double-sided TF2300DF prints a true graphic on each face for two-way viewing. Pick single-sided for a one-way spot and double-sided where both sides show.

Q: When does single-sided make more sense?

A: When the back is never really seen. Beside a till, against a wall or inside a window the reverse faces away, so paying for one printed face gives the full front impact at a lower price. If shoppers circle the flag in the open, double-sided earns its extra cost. For most counter and window spots, single-sided is the sensible pick.

Q: Is the plate enough for a flag this small?

A: Indoors, easily. The 10.5kg plate is generous under the 2.2m height and holds it firm in normal shop conditions and passing draughts. Take it outside, where wind load rises, and a ground spike in grass or a vehicle-held car base is the steadier footing.

Q: Does it come with free UK delivery?

A: Yes, free UK mainland delivery is included. Displaysense has supplied display products to UK businesses since 1978, shipping from its Hertfordshire base. The flag turns up printed and ready to build, with the 10.5kg plate and carry bag in the box.

Q: Can I get it taller, double-sided or for outside?

A: Yes. Taller heights suit halls and foyers, and a double-sided version prints both faces. For outdoor use a ground spike fixes it into grass and a drive-on car base holds it on a forecourt, each taking the place of the weighted plate. The same front artwork prints across every size and footing in the range.

Guides for Teardrop Flags and Point-of-Sale Impact

A compact single-sided teardrop flag is a cheap way to draw the eye at a till or a counter, but where you place it and what it says decide how many customers it nudges. The guides below look at catching the eye at events, standing out on a busy exhibition stand, and matching the format to the setting, so your flag pulls people in rather than blending into the fixtures.

Overview

Where the flag is going outside, the same compact teardrop is offered with a ground spike base for grass, or with a drive-on car base that a vehicle wheel holds down on a forecourt, giving you the same sail and print on a footing made for the ground.

Overview

Description

A single-sided print lays the design on the front of the polyester only. Since the cloth is a single layer, light carries a softened, mirror-image version of it through to the reverse.

FAQs
