A Double-Sided Teardrop Flag That Stands Anywhere Flat

A teardrop flag holds its branding in a taut, rounded sweep that stays open and readable even when the air is dead still, which is exactly what sets it apart from a flag that needs a breeze to look its best. The TF5000DF carries that shape on a curved glass fibre pole and rests on a weighted square steel base, so it plants itself on any hard, flat floor with no spike to drive in and no vehicle to hold it down. Each face is printed on its own skin around a light-blocking core, so the design reads forwards whether someone sees it from the front or from behind. Best suited for indoor retail, exhibitions and showrooms where the floor is hard and flat and the display needs to stand on its own.

Why This Teardrop Flag Earns Its Floor Space

  • Branding that reads forwards on both faces: Each side is a separate printed skin wrapped around a light-blocking core, so the logo never shows through backwards. Footfall from either direction takes in the same crisp graphic, and the printing is part of the order, so you send art and it arrives finished.
  • A weighted base that holds on any flat floor: The square steel plate keeps the flag upright on its own mass, with no stake to push in and no car to park on it. Set it down on a shop floor, hall or paved area and it is ready, then lift it and move it somewhere else whenever the layout changes.
  • A taut shape that reads in dead-still air: The curved pole draws the fabric into a tight teardrop, so the graphic stays open and legible indoors where there is no wind to lift it. It will not sag into a limp wrap around the pole the way a loose rectangular flag tends to.
  • A pole that bends through the gusts: Glass fibre keeps the mast springy, and the GRP whip at the tip lets it bow and recover instead of meeting the wind head-on. Taken outdoors, that flex is what keeps it upright in a breeze of up to 45 kph (28 mph) where a stiff mast would give.
  • Light to carry and quick to reposition: The pole breaks down by hand and the base lifts on its own, so one person can move the whole display between a window, a doorway and an event stand in a couple of minutes. There are no tools involved at any stage.
  • Folds into the carry bag it arrives in: The pole sections and fabric roll into the supplied bag for a car boot or a stockroom shelf, leaving only the base to carry alongside. A 1 year guarantee covers the whole thing against manufacturing faults.

The Businesses That Stand This Flag Every Day

Shopping Centres and Indoor Retail Steers shoppers toward an offer, a concession or a new line from the middle of a mall or store floor. The weighted base sits on the polished surface without marking or fixing it, and lifts away the moment the promotion changes.
Exhibitions and Conferences Gives your stand a tall, legible marker on a hall floor where stakes and vehicles are out of the question. The taut teardrop shape stays readable in the still indoor air, so the branding works even with no breeze to lift it.
Car Showrooms and Dealership Interiors Flags finance offers or a featured model across a showroom floor. The base stands on the hard flooring under its own weight, and the double-sided print greets browsers walking the room from either direction.
Gyms, Leisure and Reception Areas Points members and visitors toward classes, sign-up desks or events from a lobby or studio floor. It stands clear of walls and counters, moves easily when the space is rearranged, and needs no fixing into the floor.
Hospitality and Visitor Attractions Marks an entrance, menu or feature inside a hotel, bar or attraction. The freestanding base suits tiled and timber floors where nothing can be drilled, and the flag folds away neatly once the event is over.
Shop Frontages and Paved Areas Brings a teardrop of branding onto the pavement or forecourt outside your door. The weighted plate rests on the paving without fixings or drilling, holding the flag steady through the everyday breeze of a high street pitch and lifting away cleanly at the end of the day.

Taking It Outside Onto Grass?

The square plate base is made for hard, flat ground. For a lawn, verge or field, the same teardrop flag is offered with a ground spike base that drives straight into soft ground instead, giving you the same shape and print with a footing built for the outdoors.

TF5000DF is a 4.4m double-sided glass fibre teardrop flag from Displaysense, supplied with a 10.5kg square steel plate base and printing on both faces. Its differentiator is a weighted freestanding base that stands the flag on any hard, flat surface, indoors or out, with no spike to drive in and no vehicle to hold it down. Height 4360mm, width 862mm. Base weight 10.5kg. Printed graphic 862mm x 3818mm per face. Built from a glass fibre pole with a GRP whip, a polyester flag and a steel plate base, inner pole diameter 16.8mm. Rated for winds up to 45 kph (28 mph), Beaufort Scale 6. Sets up by hand in about two minutes, with a carry bag and a 1 year guarantee in the box. Suited to indoor retail, exhibitions, showrooms, gyms and hospitality interiors. A single-sided version and ground spike or drive-on car bases for outdoor ground are also available. Displaysense, UK display product specialists since 1978.

Run a single layer of fabric and the print bleeds through, leaving anyone behind the flag squinting at a backwards logo. This one is put together to avoid that. Two polyester skins are printed on their own and joined around a central light-blocking liner, which stops either image showing through to the other side. What you get is a clean, forward-facing graphic on both faces, so the flag earns its keep from every approach rather than only from the front.

A teardrop is named for its outline, and that outline is the whole point. The glass fibre pole arcs over and the fabric is stitched to follow it, pulling the graphic taut into a rounded teardrop that holds its shape without any wind at all. That is why it suits indoor floors and sheltered doorways where a loose, rectangular flag would simply hang limp against its pole. The mast is built from glass fibre, fine glass strands set in resin, and tipped with a GRP whip so it can still flex and shed gusts outdoors. Every pole in the range shares a 16.8mm inner diameter.

Standing the flag up takes nothing more than its own base. The square steel plate weighs 10.5kg, and that mass alone is what keeps the teardrop upright on a hard, flat surface, no stake hammered into the ground and no vehicle parked on a foot. The pole drops into a socket at the centre of the plate, so the flag turns to settle with any breeze. Because the weight does the work, it stands on shop floors, exhibition halls, showrooms and paved areas alike. The one thing it needs is a firm, level surface, so genuinely soft ground is a job for the spike base instead.

The artwork is fixed into the cloth with heat rather than printed onto it. In dye sublimation the inks are turned to gas and driven into the polyester fibres, where they set as part of the fabric. That is why the colours hold their strength under sunlight and rain and why the flag can be rolled into its bag over and over without the print flaking off. Each face carries a printed area of 862mm by 3818mm. You provide the artwork, both sides are produced for you, and the flag goes together by hand in about two minutes.

Total Height 4360mm (4.4m) Rises well above head height to pull the eye across a busy floor, while fitting comfortably under the ceilings of most halls, showrooms and shop interiors.
Width 862mm The rounded teardrop profile gives a broad, bold graphic area that stays readable from across a room, without needing a wide stretch of floor or aisle to stand in.
Display Type Double-sided Two independent faces both read forwards, so visitors approaching from either side see the same message and nobody behind it reads a reversed logo.
Printed Graphic Size 862mm x 3818mm per side A generous full-shape canvas on each face. Supply your artwork at this size and both sides return printed and ready to raise.
Pole Material Glass fibre with GRP whip Light yet springy. The curved mast pulls the teardrop taut, and the flexible whip lets the pole bow in a gust and recover instead of snapping.
Inner Pole Diameter 16.8mm The shared fitting across the whole flag range, so masts, bases and spare parts swap freely between the displays you already run.
Base 10.5kg square steel plate base A weighted freestanding plate for hard, flat floors. Its mass alone holds the flag upright, with no spike or vehicle needed. For grass, choose the ground spike version.
Base Weight 10.5kg Heavy enough to stand the flag securely on indoor and paved surfaces, yet light enough for one person to lift and reposition between spots.
Flag Material Polyester, dye-sublimation printed Ink is set into the weave rather than coated on top, so colour holds up under sun and rain and the fabric folds away repeatedly without the print lifting.
Wind Resistance Up to 45 kph (28 mph), Beaufort 6 Stays standing through a strong breeze as the flexing mast spills wind that would topple a rigid sign. Take it indoors for severe or gale conditions.
Assembly No-tool, around 2 minutes One person raises or stows it in a couple of minutes, with nothing to screw, bolt or hammer, so it is up the moment it is needed.
In the Box Flag, square plate base, carry bag, 1 year guarantee The flag, its weighted base and a bag to carry the fabric arrive together, all covered against manufacturing faults for a full year.

Frequently Asked Questions About This 4.4m Teardrop Flag

Q: What is the best teardrop flag for indoor retail and exhibitions?

A: For indoor retail and exhibitions, the TF5000DF is a strong pick. Its 10.5kg square plate base stands on a hard floor under its own weight, with no spike or vehicle needed, and the taut teardrop shape keeps the graphic readable in still indoor air. Both faces are printed, so it works from either direction.

Q: How does the square plate base keep the teardrop flag upright?

A: The base is a flat steel plate weighing 10.5kg, and that weight alone anchors the flag. You set the plate on a hard, level surface and drop the pole into the socket at its centre. Nothing is staked into the ground or parked on a foot, so it stands freely indoors or on paving and lifts away when you move it.

Q: Could the flag tip over on a busy floor?

A: It is built to stay put. The 10.5kg steel plate sits low and central, giving the flag a stable, freestanding footing that holds through everyday footfall without being fixed down. In a very crowded space, set it slightly clear of the main flow, where its weight keeps it upright rather than toppling at a knock.

Q: Is this outdoor marketing display suitable for shopping centres and showrooms?

A: Yes. Malls and showrooms use it to steer footfall toward an offer, concession or featured product from the middle of a floor. The weighted base rests on the hard surface without fixings or marks, and the double-sided print is read by shoppers passing in either direction.

Q: Can this teardrop flag be used at exhibitions and conferences?

A: Yes. On a hall floor where stakes and vehicles are not an option, the 10.5kg plate stands the display securely on its own. The 4.4m height gives a tall marker that delegates spot from across the room, and the taut shape holds the branding open in the still air of an indoor venue.

Q: How quickly does it set up, and can one person move it?

A: Setup is around two minutes by hand. The pole sections push together, the printed banner sleeves over them, and the pole drops into the base socket. One person manages it easily: the fabric and pole fold into the carry bag and the base lifts on its own, so the whole display shifts from spot to spot without help.

Q: How tall is it and what size is the printed area?

A: It stands 4360mm, or 4.4m, tall enough to read across a floor yet within most ceiling heights. Each face has a printed area of 862mm x 3818mm, the size to supply artwork at, and the base weighs 10.5kg. The rounded teardrop profile gives a broad, bold canvas without needing a wide footprint.

Q: What is the difference between the double-sided TF5000DF and single-sided TF5000CB?

A: The print is the main difference. The TF5000DF prints a separate, forward-reading graphic on each face around a blockout core, so it reads correctly from both sides. The single-sided TF5000CB prints one face, shows a faint mirror image on the back, and costs less; it also ships on a drive-on car base rather than a plate. Pick double-sided where the display is seen from both directions.

Q: Do I really need a double-sided teardrop flag?

A: It depends on the sightlines. Where people pass on both sides, such as a mall aisle or an open hall, double-sided keeps the branding forward-facing whichever way it is viewed. Where it sits against a wall or a window and is only ever seen from the front, a single-sided version covers the job for less.

Q: Will the printed colours fade in sunlight?

A: No. Dye sublimation sets the colour into the polyester fibres rather than coating the surface, so the graphic holds its strength under sun and rain and survives being rolled away time after time without cracking. Bringing the display in during severe weather adds further life to the print.

Q: Is free UK delivery included with this custom printed banner?

A: Yes. This teardrop flag is dispatched with free UK mainland delivery. Displaysense has supplied display products to UK businesses since 1978 from its base in Hertfordshire. It turns up printed and ready to build, with the square plate base and carry bag in the same pack.

Q: Are there other sizes or a base made for outdoor ground?

A: Yes. The same teardrop flag is made in shorter 3m and 2.2m heights, and a single-sided version where it only faces one way. For grass, soil or a forecourt, a ground spike or a drive-on car base replaces the plate, anchoring the flag on outdoor ground instead.

Guides for Teardrop Flags and Indoor Brand Visibility

A teardrop flag costs little and works hard, but where you stand it and what it says decide how much it earns. The guides below look at catching the eye at events, standing out on a packed exhibition or market floor, and choosing a format that fits the room, so your display draws people in rather than melting into the background.

Specification Detail What This Means for You
Total Height 4360mm (4.4m) Rises well above head height to pull the eye across a busy floor, while fitting comfortably under the ceilings of most halls, showrooms and shop interiors.

FAQs
