A Tall Single-Sided Teardrop Flag on a Weighted Plate

When a flag stands against a wall, a window or a stage backdrop, only the front is ever seen, so paying to print the back pays for nothing, and the TF5000SF puts the budget where it counts with a single printed face on the tallest teardrop in the range. A long rounded sail rises from a curved glass fibre pole seated in a weighted square plate that rests on the floor, holding the full height upright with nothing fixed down. One face carries the full design, and the reverse shows a soft mirror of it, which never matters where the flag has its back to a wall. Set the plate down, raise the pole, and it stands free on any flat, hard floor. Best suited for receptions, exhibition stands and in-store displays where the flag faces one way and the budget has to stretch.

Why This Teardrop Display Earns Its Place Against a Wall

  • One printed face, all the impact where it counts: The full graphic is printed crisp and forward-reading on the front, and the back carries only a faint mirror of it. Stood against a wall, a window or a backdrop, the flag shows only that clean front, so nothing is wasted on a side no one sees.
  • Lighter on the budget than double-sided: Printing a single face costs less than printing both, so where the flag is only ever seen from one direction you pay for the impact you use and stretch the spend across more flags or more sites.
  • A heavy plate, nothing to fix down: The square steel base holds the flag by mass alone, sitting on the floor with nothing screwed, staked or parked on it. Set it down on a flat surface, drop the pole into the socket, and the plate keeps the full height standing indoors.
  • The greatest height in the range: Rising well above head height, the tallest teardrop lifts a brand over stands, desks and crowds to be picked out from the far end of a hall or a foyer, where a shorter flag would be lost among the displays.
  • A rounded sail that reads in still air: The curved pole holds the teardrop taut, so the graphic stays open and legible even when the air indoors is dead still, where a flat banner would hang slack and unreadable against its pole.
  • Flexes in a draught, packs down small: The glass fibre mast and its GRP whip bend and recover rather than standing rigid, riding a breeze of up to 45 kph (28 mph) by an open door, and the pole splits down to pack into the bag supplied. There is a 1 year guarantee against manufacturing faults.

Where This One-Sided Banner Does the Job

Reception and Lobby Backdrops Stands behind or beside a reception desk where visitors only ever see the front. The weighted plate rests on the lobby floor with nothing fixed, the single face carries the branding cleanly, and the cost saved on the back goes further across a site.
Exhibition Stand Walls and Corners Marks a stand from the aisle where the flag backs onto the stand wall or a corner. Only the front is in view, so a single face is all the stand needs, and the plate stands free on the hall floor without bolting down.
In-Store Displays Against a Wall Flags a range or an offer set against a shop wall or the end of an aisle. The reverse faces the wall and is never seen, the front reads down the aisle, and the weighted base relocates in seconds as the layout changes.
Stage and Event Backdrops Dresses a stage or a presentation backdrop where the audience sits in front. A single printed face suits the one-way view, the height fills the space behind the speakers, and the plate sets up on any flat stage floor.
Window and Shopfront Displays Stands inside a window facing the street, so the front does the selling and the back sits against the glass. The plate holds it upright on the display floor, and the tall sail draws the eye of passers-by from along the pavement.
Conference and Registration Areas Points delegates to a registration desk or a session room from a foyer wall or pillar. The single face is read on the approach, the weighted base needs only to rest in place, and the height carries over a busy crowd.

Taking It Outdoors?

This plate is built for hard, sheltered floors. Where the flag is heading outside, the same tall teardrop is offered with a ground spike base for grass, or with a drive-on car base that a vehicle wheel holds down on a forecourt, giving you the same sail and print on a footing built for the ground.

Seen from both sides instead? A double-sided version prints a correct graphic on each face. Call 01279460460 or message the team and we will help you choose.

TF5000SF is a 4.4m single-sided glass fibre teardrop flag from Displaysense, the tallest in the range, supplied with a 10.5kg square steel plate base and printing on one face. Its differentiator is a tall freestanding teardrop with a single printed face for one-direction viewing, held upright by a weighted plate with no stake or vehicle. Height 4360mm, width 862mm. Base weight 10.5kg. A printed graphic of 862mm x 3818mm sits on the front face, with a soft mirror image showing through to the back. Set on a glass fibre pole capped with a GRP whip, a polyester flag and a steel plate base; inner pole diameter 16.8mm. Rides winds to 45 kph (28 mph), Beaufort Scale 6. Lifted upright by hand in about two minutes, with a carry bag and a 1 year guarantee in the box. Suited to receptions, exhibition stands, in-store displays, stage backdrops and shopfront windows. A double-sided version, a ground spike base for soft ground, and a drive-on car base for hard outdoor surfaces are also available. Displaysense, UK display product specialists since 1978.

A single-sided flag is printed on one face only. The design is applied to the front of the polyester, and because the cloth is a single layer the light carries a softened, mirror-image version of it through to the back. Where the flag stands against a wall, a window or a backdrop, only the crisp front is ever in view, so printing a single side keeps the cost down without losing any impact on the side that matters.

Shaped as a long rounded sail, the teardrop is held taut by a tall pole that bows over its top edge. That tension keeps the front graphic stretched open and legible even in the dead-still air of a hall, where a flat banner would hang limp against the pole. The mast is glass fibre, fine glass strands bound in resin for a tall, springy pole, and it is tipped with a GRP whip that bends in a draught. Across the range the inner pole diameter is a common 16.8mm, so fittings carry over between flags.

Underneath, a square steel plate does the standing by sheer weight. It sits flat on the floor and the pole drops into a central socket, so the mass of the base keeps the full height upright with nothing screwed down, staked in or parked on top. Because the hold comes from weight on a level surface, it belongs on hard floors indoors or under cover; out on grass a ground spike grips instead, and on a forecourt a drive-on car base takes over.

Colour is driven into the fabric by dye sublimation, a heat process that turns the inks to gas and sinks them into the polyester so they stain the cloth rather than sit on the surface. Printed that way the front graphic keeps its colour under hall lighting and through repeated use, and rolls down between events without cracking. The front face is printed across an area of 862mm by 3818mm. Send the artwork over, the front is produced for you, and the flag raises by hand in about two minutes.

Specification Detail What This Means for You
Total Height 4360mm (4.4m) The tallest teardrop in the range, rising above desks, stands and crowds to be seen from the far end of a hall, a foyer or a sales floor.
Width 862mm A broad rounded sail that carries a large front graphic, legible from a long way off across a hall, on a footprint that still sits on a single plate.
Display Type Single-sided The front carries the full design and the back only a faint mirror, so it costs less than a double-sided print and suits a flag that is seen from one direction.
Printed Graphic Size 862mm x 3818mm, front face A tall full-shape canvas on the front. Set your artwork to this size and the printed front face comes back ready to raise straight onto the plate.
Pole Material Glass fibre with GRP whip A tall mast that bows, not breaks. The curved pole pulls the rounded sail taut, and the whip lets it flex in a draught and spring back upright unharmed.
Inner Pole Diameter 16.8mm The shared fitting across the whole flag range, so poles, bases and spares interchange freely with all the other teardrop and feather flags in your kit.
Base 10.5kg square steel plate base A weighted plate that holds the flag by its own mass on a flat floor, with no stake or vehicle to set up. For grass, a ground spike is the choice.
Base Weight 10.5kg Enough mass to hold the full 4.4m height steady on a hard floor, yet light enough for one person to lift and carry the base into position.
Flag Material Polyester, dye-sublimation printed Colour stains the fibres rather than coating them, so the front stays bright under hall lighting and rolls away between events without cracking.
Wind Resistance Up to 45 kph (28 mph), Beaufort 6 The flexing mast spills a draught or a sheltered breeze rather than toppling. For exposed outdoor use, a spike or car base is steadier.
Assembly No-tool, around 2 minutes One person stands the full height in a couple of minutes, with nothing to screw or bolt; the pole just drops into the plate socket.
In the Box Flag, square plate base, carry bag, 1 year guarantee The flag, its 10.5kg plate and the carry bag all pack down together, covered against manufacturing faults for a full year from delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions About This 4.4m Single-Sided Teardrop Flag

Q: What is the tallest single-sided teardrop flag for a reception or stand?

A: The TF5000SF is the tallest teardrop at 4.4m, printed on one face for a flag seen from a single direction. Its 10.5kg plate holds it free on a hard floor with no stake or vehicle, the height lifts the brand over a desk or stand, and the single face keeps the cost down where the back is against a wall.

Q: What holds a flag this tall upright without a stake?

A: Its own weight does, through a flat 10.5kg steel plate. The plate sits on a level floor and the pole drops into a socket at its centre, so the mass alone keeps the tall flag upright. With nothing bolted, staked or parked on the base, it stands loose and lifts straight off to reposition.

Q: What does the back of a single-sided flag look like?

A: The back shows a softened, mirror-image version of the front design, lighter than the printed face and reading in reverse. It is meant for flags that stand against a wall, a window or a backdrop, where the reverse is hidden or simply not the side anyone reads.

Q: Is this outdoor marketing display suitable for exhibition stands and in-store displays?

A: Yes. A stand backs it against the stand wall so only the front shows to the aisle, and a shop sets it at the end of an aisle facing the floor. The weighted plate rests in place with nothing fixed, the height carries over the displays, and the single face suits the one-way view.

Q: Can the single face be read from a distance in a large hall?

A: Yes. At 4.4m the front lifts well above heads and stands, and the broad teardrop carries a large graphic that reads from the far end of a hall or foyer. Facing the room from a wall or a pillar, the printed front does all the work the space asks of it.

Q: Can one person set up the full height quickly?

A: Yes, two minutes by hand does it. Slot the pole sections together, sleeve the printed front over them, and stand the pole in the plate. At 10.5kg the base is easy to carry into place, so one person takes it from carry bag to standing flag.

Q: How tall is it, and how large is the printed face?

A: It stands 4360mm, around 4.4m, the tallest in the teardrop range. The front face is printed across 862mm x 3818mm, the size to set your artwork at. That height lifts the graphic clear of desks and stands so the single face is seen from across a hall.

Q: What is the difference between the single-sided TF5000SF and double-sided TF5000DF?

A: Both are the same 4.4m teardrop on the same 10.5kg plate, so the print is the difference. The TF5000SF prints one face and shows a faint mirror on the back, which costs less and suits a flag against a wall. The double-sided TF5000DF prints a correct, forward-reading graphic on each face for viewing from both directions. Choose single-sided for a one-way spot, double-sided in the open.

Q: When is single-sided the better choice?

A: Whenever the flag is only seen from one direction. Against a wall, a window, a stand panel or a stage backdrop, the reverse is hidden, so a single printed face gives the same front impact for less than double-sided. In the open, where people pass on both sides, double-sided is the one to pick.

Q: Will the plate keep a 4.4m flag stable?

A: Indoors on a flat floor, yes. The 10.5kg plate is sized to the 4.4m height for normal interior conditions and the odd draught. Out in the open the wind load on so tall a flag climbs, where a ground spike driven into grass or a vehicle-held car base holds steadier.

Q: Is delivery free on this teardrop flag in the UK?

A: Yes. Delivery within the UK mainland costs nothing. Displaysense has supplied display products to UK businesses since 1978 and ships from its Hertfordshire base. The flag reaches you printed and ready to build, with the 10.5kg plate and carry bag in the same delivery.

Q: Can I get it shorter, double-sided, or for outdoors?

A: Yes. Shorter heights suit lower ceilings, and a double-sided version prints a correct graphic on both faces. To take it outdoors, a ground spike anchors it in grass and a drive-on car base holds it on a forecourt, each replacing the weighted plate.

Guides for Teardrop Flags and Display Impact

A single-sided teardrop flag is a low-cost way to own a sightline in a hall or a foyer, but where you place it and what it says decide how many people it pulls over. The guides below look at catching the eye at events, standing out on a packed exhibition stand, and matching the format to the space, so your flag draws people over rather than blending into the displays.

A Tall Single-Sided Teardrop Flag on a Weighted Plate

FAQs

Description

A single-sided flag is printed on one face only. The design is applied to the front of the polyester, and because the cloth is a single layer the light carries a softened, mirror-image version of it through to the back. Where the flag stands against a wall, a window or a backdrop, only the crisp front is ever in view, so printing a single side keeps the cost down without losing any impact on the side that matters.

FAQs
