A Compact Double-Sided Feather Flag That Stands on Any Floor

A feather flag draws the eye upward with a tall, tapering blade of branding, and the compact FF2300DF brings that shape to spaces a full-size flag would swamp. It rides a curved glass fibre pole and rests on a weighted square steel base, so it plants itself on any hard, flat floor with no stake to drive in and no vehicle to hold it down. Each face is printed on its own panel around an opaque core, so the logo reads forward from both sides. Its short stature suits counters, doorways and in-store displays where headroom and floor space are both limited. Best suited for shop interiors, reception areas and exhibition stands where the floor is hard and flat and the display has to stand unaided.

Why This Feather Display Works Indoors and Out

  • A forward-facing image on each side: Two printed panels sit either side of an opaque middle layer, so each face shows its own clean graphic and neither ghosts through to the back. Footfall from both directions reads the same branding, and the printing is part of the order, so you supply art and it returns finished.
  • A weighted plate, nothing to fix down: A square steel base keeps the flag standing on its own mass, with no stake to press in and nothing to park on a foot. Stand it on a shop floor, a counter run or a paved entrance and it is ready, then carry it elsewhere the moment the layout changes.
  • A short stature that slots into small rooms: The most compact flag we make stands comfortably under low ceilings, beside a till or just inside a doorway. You get an eye-level marker on pitches where a tall flag would scrape the ceiling or block the aisle.
  • A tall, slim profile for its size: The tapering feather blade gives a strong vertical line that reads down a shop or hall while taking up barely any floor. It carries a clear message on a footprint small enough for the tightest of trading spaces, drawing the eye up where wall posters and shelf cards get missed.
  • A pole that bends with the weather: The glass fibre mast and its GRP whip flex and recover in a gust rather than standing stiff against it, so taken outdoors the flag holds up in a breeze of up to 45 kph (28 mph) where a rigid pole would snap.
  • Light to carry, quick to pack: The pole comes apart into sections and the fabric rolls into the supplied bag, leaving only the plate to lift, so one person moves and stows the whole display in minutes without tools. A 1 year manufacturing guarantee comes as standard.

The Settings That Suit This Banner Best

Convenience Stores and Small Retail Highlights a deal or a new line on a cramped shop floor where a big flag would get in the way. The plate sits on the floor under its own weight, marks nothing, and lifts out of the way the instant the promotion moves on.
Receptions, Foyers and Waiting Areas Welcomes visitors with branding or directions right at the entrance. The short height suits a foyer with a low ceiling, and the freestanding plate keeps the display clear of desks and doors with nothing screwed to the floor, ready to move as the foyer is rearranged.
Trade Counters and Showroom Desks Flags an offer or service beside the counter where customers queue and pay. Its slim footprint tucks into the space behind or beside a desk, and the weighted base holds it steady through the day without any fixing.
Exhibition and Pop-Up Stands Gives a small stand a vertical marker without crowding a tight pitch. The plate stands it firmly on the hall floor where stakes cannot go, and the whole thing folds into a bag to travel between shows.
Salons, Clinics and Studios Points clients toward treatments, classes or sign-up offers from a reception or studio floor. It stands on tile or timber without drilling, takes up next to no room, and moves easily as the space is rearranged.
Cafe Interiors and Doorways Carries a menu or special from just inside the door or on the threshold. The compact blade fits between tables and entrances, the weighted plate rests on the floor or paving with nothing fixed in place, and the whole thing lifts inside at the end of service.

Putting It Out on Grass?

The square plate is built for hard, flat ground. For a lawn, verge or field, the same compact feather flag comes with a ground spike base that drives into soft ground instead, giving you the same blade and print on an outdoor footing.

FF2300DF is a 2.3m double-sided glass fibre feather flag from Displaysense, supplied with a 10.5kg square steel plate base and printing on both faces. Its differentiator is the compact feather height set on a weighted freestanding base, so it stands on hard, flat ground in small spaces with no spike and no vehicle. Height 2260mm, width 690mm. Base weight 10.5kg. Printed graphic 690mm x 1860mm per face. Made from a glass fibre pole topped with a GRP whip, a polyester flag and a steel plate base; inner pole diameter 16.8mm. Holds steady in winds to 45 kph (28 mph), Beaufort Scale 6. Assembles by hand in about two minutes, with a carry bag and a 1 year guarantee in the box. Suited to convenience stores, receptions, trade counters, exhibition stands and salons. A single-sided version, ground spike and drive-on car bases, and taller 3.2m and 5m sizes are also available. Displaysense, UK display product specialists since 1978.

A flag printed on a single layer gives itself away from behind, where the design shows through faint and flipped. This one stacks two printed panels around an opaque middle layer, so each face stands on its own: a clean, right-reading graphic front and back, with no shadow of the opposite side bleeding through. That is what makes it worth printing both sides, since the branding holds up for anyone who sees it, not only the people stood in front.

A feather flag takes its name from the shape, a tall, tapering blade that narrows toward a point at the top and is carried on a pole curving along its leading edge. The form gives the most height for the least floor, a slim vertical line that reads from a distance. The pole is glass fibre, fine glass strands set in resin to stay light and springy, and it is tipped with a GRP whip so it can still bow and shed a gust when the flag is taken outside. As with every flag in the range, the inner pole diameter is 16.8mm.

What keeps it standing is a single weighted plate. The square steel base tips the scales at 10.5kg, and the pole simply seats into a socket at its centre, the mass of the plate doing all the work of holding the flag up on a flat floor. Nothing is spiked into the ground or driven over by a wheel. It will stand on any firm, level surface, indoors or on paving, which is exactly why it suits floors where a stake is out of the question. Genuinely soft ground is the one exception, and there the spike base takes over, pushing into grass or soil where a plate would simply sink or wobble.

The print goes on by dye sublimation, where heat turns the inks to gas and forces them into the polyester until the colour is part of the cloth rather than a layer sitting on it. Locked in that way, the graphic holds up under shop lighting and sun, sheds rain, and puts up with being folded and unfolded for years without flaking. The printed area runs 690mm by 1860mm on each face. Send the artwork over, both sides come back printed, and the flag goes together by hand in about two minutes.

Specification Detail What This Means for You
Total Height 2260mm (2.3m) The most compact flag in the range, standing comfortably under low ceilings, beside counters and in doorways that a taller display would block.
Width 690mm A tapering blade on a slim footprint, so it carries a clear message down a room or aisle without taking up the floor that a small shop or exhibition stand simply cannot spare.
Display Type Double-sided Both faces read forwards, so customers from either direction get the same message and no one behind the flag sees a reversed logo.
Printed Graphic Size 690mm x 1860mm per side A full-blade canvas on each face, sized to the compact flag. Set your artwork to these dimensions and both sides return printed and ready to raise.
Pole Material Glass fibre with GRP whip Springy rather than rigid. The curved mast carries the feather shape, and the whip lets the pole bow in a gust and spring back instead of cracking.
Inner Pole Diameter 16.8mm The shared fitting across the whole flag range, so poles, bases and spare parts swap freely with the other flags you run.
Base 10.5kg square steel plate base Weighted to hold the flag on a flat floor by mass alone, with no spike to drive in or vehicle to park on. Soft ground calls for the spike-base version instead.
Base Weight 10.5kg Enough to hold a 2.3m flag steady on indoor and paved surfaces, while staying light enough for one person to lift and reposition between spots.
Flag Material Polyester, dye-sublimation printed The colour is dyed into the fibres rather than coated on, so it holds up under shop lighting, sun and rain and folds away again and again without flaking.
Wind Resistance Up to 45 kph (28 mph), Beaufort 6 Stands through a strong breeze as the flexing mast lets wind slip past rather than toppling like a rigid sign. Move it indoors for gale conditions.
Assembly No-tool, around 2 minutes One person stands it up or packs it away in a couple of minutes, with nothing to screw, bolt or hammer down, so it is ready the moment it is needed.
In the Box Flag, square plate base, carry bag, 1 year guarantee The flag, its weighted plate and a bag for the fabric arrive together, all covered against manufacturing faults for a full year.

Frequently Asked Questions About This 2.3m Feather Flag

Q: What is the best compact feather flag for a small shop?

A: For a small shop floor, the FF2300DF is a good fit. At 2.3m it is the most compact flag in the range, its 10.5kg plate base stands on the floor under its own weight, and the tapering blade carries a clear message on a slim footprint. Both faces are printed, so it reads from either side.

Q: How does the 10.5kg square base keep the flag standing?

A: The base is a flat steel plate weighing 10.5kg, and that weight on its own holds the flag. You rest the plate on a level surface and seat the pole in the socket at its centre. Nothing is spiked into the floor or parked on a foot, so it stands freely and lifts away whenever you move it.

Q: Will it fit in a small shop or under a low ceiling?

A: Yes. At 2.3m it is the shortest flag we make, low enough to clear suspended ceilings, foyer soffits and doorways that taller flags would foul. It still rises above eye level on a slim footprint, so it marks a counter, entrance or aisle without crowding a tight floor.

Q: Is this outdoor marketing display suitable for receptions and trade counters?

A: Yes. Foyers and trade counters use it to greet visitors or flag a service right where people arrive and queue. The weighted plate stands clear of desks with nothing fixed down, and the compact height suits the lower ceilings and tight footprints these areas tend to have.

Q: Can this feather flag be used on an exhibition stand?

A: Yes. On a small stand the 10.5kg plate stands the display firmly where stakes and vehicles are not allowed, and the compact blade marks your space without crowding a tight pitch. It folds into a bag between shows, so the same flag travels from one event to the next.

Q: How quick is setup, and can one person carry it?

A: Setup runs about two minutes by hand. The pole pieces slot together, the printed banner pulls over them, and the pole seats into the base socket. One person manages it with ease, as the fabric and pole fold into the carry bag and the plate lifts on its own to move between spots.

Q: How tall is this feather flag, and what size is the print?

A: It stands 2260mm, around 2.3m, the most compact height in the range. Each face is printed across 690mm x 1860mm, the size to set your artwork at, and the base weighs 10.5kg. The tapering blade gives a tall, readable line on a footprint small enough for tight spaces.

Q: What is the difference between the double-sided FF2300DF and single-sided FF2300CB?

A: The print is what separates them. The FF2300DF carries a separate, forward-reading graphic on each face around a blockout core, so it reads correctly from both sides. The single-sided FF2300CB prints one face, leaves a faint reversed image on the back, and costs less, arriving on a drive-on car base rather than a plate. Pick double-sided wherever the display is seen from both directions.

Q: Do I need a double-sided flag for an in-store display?

A: It depends where it goes. In the middle of a floor or an aisle where shoppers pass on both sides, double-sided keeps the branding forward-facing from every angle. Set against a wall or window and seen only from the front, a single-sided version does the same job for less.

Q: Will the colours hold up under shop lighting and sunlight?

A: Yes. Dye sublimation sets the colour into the polyester fibres rather than coating the surface, so the graphic keeps its strength under bright retail lighting, sun through the window and outdoor weather alike. It also takes repeated folding without the print cracking.

Q: Does this custom printed banner include free UK delivery?

A: Yes. Free UK mainland delivery is included as standard. Displaysense has supplied display products to UK businesses since 1978 and ships from its base in Hertfordshire. The flag arrives printed and ready to build, with the square plate base and carry bag packed in the same box.

Q: Is there a taller size or a base made for outdoor ground?

A: Yes. The same feather flag is made in taller 3.2m and 5m heights, and in a single-sided version for one-way viewing. Where the ground is grass, soil or a forecourt, a ground spike or a drive-on car base replaces the plate to anchor it outdoors.

Guides for Feather Flags and In-Store Brand Visibility

A small feather flag costs little and pulls its weight, as long as it lands in the right spot with a message worth reading. The articles below cover catching the eye at events, getting noticed on a crowded exhibition or market floor, and matching the format to the room, so your display draws people over rather than disappearing among the fixtures.

FAQs
